@Nickless

@Loc: Someone with honour would do anything to help his daughter, you know, die for her and stuff. Not kill her and then commit suicide.
I am guessing my statement was a tad Misread, what I meant was: He killed his Daughter, as that was the statement, But if you kill in Honour of your family, you yourself are already in Dishonour, One should only Kill when his Life is in Danger, THEN you Kill in Honour.

Honour can be a bit tricky, Because that same honour states that Defense of your Family comes above all else, in other words (will further on be abbreviated to iow) if a member of the Family or clan has been wronged, any one of those family may Kill the offenders, out of Honour.

Personally I stand By the first, Kill only when in Danger, other is an act in Dishonour.

Must...not....flame...religion....
Ah, well maybe a little...
This is why I hate religion. It SCREWS people up. I also hate it because religion is probably the root cause of much that's wrong in the world, and does nothing good to balance it.

to keep a healthy distance of non-interfearance.

For whom is this healthy? Certainly not for that child.

Well I do know of a bad torture device used by Germany in WW2 against spies. They're put in a room and, well do you want me to go on?

Well its like Indias old Thugee practice (Where an indian cult called Thugs would strangle people who are travelling for a sacrafice. Hence where we get the word thug as someone who robs or just beats people of for no reason) which the British empire tried to stop.

Well Japan and Vietnam had bad tortures they would tie you up and hang you in the air belly down then put bamboo under you which can grow at a rate of 6 inches per day untill it slowly punched a hole in them and it would be slow so it didnt kill them because it missed the organs. But eventually they were stuck on this stalk of bamboo

Just read it. Oh my lord. How anyone could do such a thing, I have no idea. If anything, the "dad" should have his eyes tied oped, them his head dunked in boiling water, then have a frag grenade jammed down his throat, with the pin already pulled.

EDIT: that is also a very suitible punsishment snipa. Do that until he's in incredible pain, and put the icing on the cake with my ideas,

It's not uncommon among some cultures, and I find it exceedingly repugnant. A word of warning though; outraged though you may be people, keep the conversation generalised and non-religious (I'm looking at you Corsair). You know how the Mods feel about these sorts of topics.

@ kaegogi,

I look at the big picture. One nation imposing their values on the people of another.

@ Jagged,

Do tell.

Life: No one gets out alive.

Perhaps I'm myopic, but I can't see past the image of a little girl that suffered a brutal crime at the hands of one fiend and was then slaughtered at the hands of a demon. I'm afraid she's blocking my view of the "big picture". Tell her to get the hell out of my way, will you?

Post Fri Apr 30, 2004 9:23 pm

@cosair, i follow no religion as well., at least i assume you follow none, given your view point on the whole thing.

on topic, that father has a twisted way of looking at things. how is killing his daughter who got raped gonna protect family honour? if thats how it goes around, why isn't anyone else getting raped? since they get away so easily ?

sorry if my question seems too sensitive for anyone. i'm just voicing my thoughts.

Post Fri Apr 30, 2004 10:07 pm

Kimk - The whole point is that by being raped she has dishonoured the whole family and, in some cultures, that is worse than death. By killing her, he has removed the stain, and regained the family's honour.

Well anyways they put you in a room with pipes all along the ceiling. They're kind of in a grid pattern and the have holes in them at crossections. These would drip acid down. This way you coudln't stop to rest or anything, you couldn't even sleep.

We go for victory!
