Old games, what to do?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Old games, what to do?

I was going through my games CD's the other day and making sure that everything was in the right case and restacking them in my varied storage facilities and I started thinking to myself "Do I really need all of these?". I have about 100+ different games (which is really scary when you think how much you've spent) of varying age and half of them I never play. The sad part is I can't bring myself to throw any of them away (except a couple of mingers that sucked arse even in their heyday). So I let of a nostalgic sigh and stacked them away and will probably be asking myself the same question in 12 months time.
So what do you guys do with your game of yore, stack em away, sell them or give them the big toss?

Leave them there for couple of years than sell them as antiques

I had the same problem with my PS1 games...went to sell them and the console, and guess what...the damn store was buying the games at $4 each and console for foking $25!! I mean come on...they were selling used ones for $10-25, and console for 50!

Because of this I just leave them sitting on the shelf while PS2 and PC collection grows, they will proly be there untill PS1 becomes old and extinct console...than sell them as antiques for $10

oh cripes, they go back in the cupboard or back on for a spin for a few days then back in the cupboard. I can't throw anything away, I still have all me old DOS games of 386 and 486 days of yore, all me SNES games, even some BBC Micro and Megadrive stuff.

And of course, there's all me Wing Commander stuff. Throw..away...? does not compute the WC and Priv stuff is actually locked anyway where no messy thieving kids can get their hands on it.

I keep my older games (or the one or two that I don't like) in a bookcase, the other I keep in my special games area . I keep the old games, because I still play them. I couldn't beat to throw out classics like "Monkey Island"!

I can't get rid of Doom, it's a staple in my computer gaming life. I've been playing it a lot recently. I'm thinking about tossing out Shadow Warrior, though. The more I play it, the more of a Duke Nukem 3D rip-off it becomes. A few weeks ago, I picked up the Sega PC Megapack, which inludes most of the old Sonic games, Virtua Fighter 2(Fun, but archaic), Crazy Taxi, and the Sega Smash pack collections(includes Altered Beasts, Super Shinobi, Vectorman 1 and 2, Sonic Spinball, and more). Classics in every sense of the word. Those will never leave my hard drive.

You ain't gettin' nothing Neo! Ok, tell us in fifty words or less why we should give our old games to you .

I can think of one major reason why I WON'T give my games to Neo: I'm too damn selfish!

Esq, Okay then ...

If you keep them, they'll continue to collect dust, and then you won't be able to find them. However, if you give them to me, I'll take care of them like I do with my children. Also, your children could find them and be corrupted by their voilent motives/ideals

There, 50 words why I should have them.

I found myself a nice little bloke with a market stall who offers me £5 for every good condition game I bring him...he doesn't care about the age as long as the box and cd are in good nick.

Beats binning them...maybe you should look for a similar chap, every town usually has one.

step 1 stack the cds in a pile with some glue between them leave to dry
step 2 go to diy store and buy a light fitting
step 3 put the two together and you have a rather fetching lamp stand
and you dont even need any stickyback plastic
