Jags are made by Ford!!! You cant be serious

Ford and Jaguar are like 2 different universes

and as for yugos...they would have been good cars if somebody would actually pay attention to them (lets say there are way to many sanctions on the country ), Also if some of ya did not know same company that makes the car makes weapons as well...very god weapons as well.

O how about this yugo...proly not available in US or many other Countries

no actually ford now owns jaguar builds them at least in the states

Yup ford is Jaguars parent company, Jaguar is still an individual entity. A bit like how FIAT own Ferrari.

Jags in the US come in two flavors. The outside skin is distinctly Jaguar but one flavor of it, the affordable one, is mounted on a Ford based chassis. The X-Type series, the ones with the split grilles are the ones with a lot of Ford innards.

I don't know who manufactures the X's Jag or Ford.

Currently doing some research...and so far I found this:

The AJ-V8 engine is manufactured in an all-new £125 million, dedicated Jaguar facility, located within the Ford Engine Plant in Bridgend, South Wales. The Jaguar facility comprises a linked flow-line of computer numerically controlled machines with automated loading and assembly. Final engine dress and assembly into cars is undertaken at Browns Lane. The AJ-V8, only the fourth Jaguar series production engine in the company´s history, is coupled with Jaguar´s first five-speed automatic transmission, which matches perfectly the engine´s power and torque.

Well this means that it is JUST located in Ford Factory...not that its "own" by it or something.

Another clue:

including Ford, to explore ways of broadening Jaguar´s product range and achieving access to world class technology and components. Meetings with General Motors were held to explore the possibility of the two companies entering into certain manufacturing, marketing and other commercial joint venture arrangements


well they decided to work together...and not for one company to "own" the other...

And as for X-type:

Ford owns a lot of British car marques today. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that Ford's Premier Automotive Group has the following makes:

Volvo (knew that), Aston Martin , Jaguar, and Land Rover !!!

So the Range Rover and the Land Rover are part of the Ford family now.

Double O Seven can't drive Aston Martins anymore.

Tickford do modifications to Fords in Australia, basically they are like what Cosworth are to Ford UK. But a ford is still a ford in australia, same as it is everywhere. Ford Aus produces the falcon, which reaper posted above. There are about 10 different variations of Falcon, from your bog stock, luxury jobbies and performance models. Holden do the same with the Commodore, all other cars are rebadged imports.
