This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Y'know, this thread was inactive for 447 hours and 7 minutes...

Isn't this known as grave digging?

BTW freelancer2003... I think you'll find that most people don't really agree with you there, but thats another (locked) thread.

FL2003 - Stop digging up old threads without a good reason, and while it is great that you like X2, this is a 'Lancer site, not an X2 site. People constantly extolling the virtues of X2 to the exclusion of everything else usually get both the regulars and the Mods off-side. Don't say I didn't warn you.

laser arena
earth siege II
mech warrior III
are my favs but since i upgraded to xp and a high end machine the last two don't work

I personally thought X2 was decidedly average, it held my interest for a couple of days and then I just didn't give a rats anymore. The trading side of the game is pukka, but is seriously let down by seriously horrid combat/ship control, the hammiest B-grade enemy and the first ever cut scenes that physically made me cringe at thier badness.

Got X2, tried X2, now it sits on the shelf. It was ok, but rather stick with Rebbellion, Freelancer and Morrowind.

I have more than 1 favorite and in different genres, but here is my all time top 5

1. Wing Commander Series + Privateer (and the Righteous Fire add-on)
2. Mafia
3. Freelancer
4. GTA Vice City
5. Star Wars: Knight of the Old Replublic

There are some other games in other genres and from my earlier computer time (when I was jamming on my Commodore 64 with those huge diskdrives, soft floppies and tape recorder ), but for now these are the ones that came to mind.

Civilization II, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Startopia, Black & White (Yes I actually loved that game), Port Royale, Transport Tycoon Deluxe (even after 10 years TT still rocks!).

That's about it

Can't really say favourite, but these are some of my golden oldies.

Crusader No Remorse
- You can blow enemies up
- You can blow stuff up
- If it's not part of the walls, it can be blown up
- Awesome story, not just mindless shooting!

Crusader No Regret
- More Crusader, that's always good
- More relevations!
- You can slaughter suits and politicians! wewt (lol)

Dungeon Keeper
- Good vs Evil turned on its head

Dungeon Keeper 2
- More yummy evilness

Privateer
- I sorta miss the lock-on delay needed for WC-style torpedoes
- You can taunt/appease people! And make them change their respons!
- A classic in every way

Chaos Legion
- Kinda like Dynasty Warriors for the PC
- Would've liked more levels, and larger ones
- Kicking bombs into the enemy while swinging a large sword, what's not to like?

Diablo
- battle.net

Diablo 2
- Awesome modding yumminess, scene still lively years later!

R-Type (all variants)
- The king of shooters bar none
- If you can finish arcade r-type, you are shooter god (lol)

Castlevania (all variants)
- Excellent story continuity
- Awesome music! If people tell you game music sucks, Castlevania shuts them up!

Princess Maker 2
- Raise your own daughter!
- Kinda perverse, I got the "I love you dad, let's get married!" ending -__-;

...ah, the memories.
