Reality TV?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Reality TV?

Airline Reality TV is getting weirder and weirder. First The island shows, The single shows, The pick a mate for your parents shows and now this? Any favorites? The above show is on Cable's A&E channel US.

i hate almost all reality TV, the only show i like is survivor.

let me ask you a question: what is related to reality the most? surviving in the middle of nowhere, or tricking your parents to let u marry som1 they hate for $1 million?

Really, neither. Surviver is a situation the majority of people will never be in and to marry someone you don't really love for 1mill, just to tick off your parents? That, marring someone you parents don't like does happen everyday, just not for the money Most of the shows, I find boring as a soap opera. The R rated one, Temptation Island was the raunchest of them all.

I like realtiy shows. They show you, well, reality and it's good fun, if you pick the right one.
The ones about airlines are always good, cause you always got these insane situations and terrible passengers demanding the (almost) impossible.

Groundcrew: "The plain left, sir, I'm sorry, you're to late."
Passenger: "Well then make it come back for me."
Groundcrew: "..."

Kinda like Taw's helpdesk horrors

You were gone?

Edit: Damn spelling.

OH, that reminded me of the episode of family guy when luis gets a job as a stewardess
you know, the one when peter wants a fort made out of pillows, and he climbs in and puts a sign up that says no girls

we've got two just like it in the uk..."airport" and "airline"...they've been going for years. Incredibly popular but I have absolutely no idea why.

The reality phenomenon is really running thin now...as we speak, this weekend "living tv" in the uk are broadcasting "I'm famous and I'm frightened" in which 10 D-List celebs get the crap scared out of them by having to spend a weekend in a haunted manor. The odd thing about this is that I'm actually getting quite a kick from watching Gary Bushel (****er), Keith Chegwin (alcoholic ex kids tv presenter), Lindsay Dawn MacKensie (only known for 2 things, google her you'll see what I mean), the woman who used to play Bet Lynch in Coronation Street (appaulling soap) and an assortment of other reeeaaallly awful love-to-hate celebrities getting the absolute **** scared out of them.

So much so, I'm beginning to wonder how long it will be before we get "I'm famous and I'm ****ed" being aired - a show where 10 D-List Celebrities are thrown into a pit with no food and an assortment of cooking utensils....or "I'm a celebrity, pass the gun" where 10 E-List celebrities play russian roulette on live tv.

Its gonna happen. Its only a matter of time

*sniff* but Arcon TV was good right?

seriously though, i fooking hate Reality tv, its just the flabour of the century unfortunately and i dont think it'll be going anywhere fast. Im really sign of any celebrity ones where they get previously famous people, watch them for a bit and then they become famous for a bit. I mean what changed with their tallent since BEFORE this show started? NOTHING FOR CHRISTS ****ING SAKE so DONT GIVE THEM THEIR OWN SODDING SHOW.

unless it was people like George bush, or the Queen or something, i dont think reality tv is even remotely important. Why not play the sims like the ****ups you are?

reality tv shows for one thing arent real noone with a camera on them acts normally and secondly they are a load of banal drivel, arcon tv excepted

I hate reality TV shows, i hate everything about reality TV shows. They are cheap, easy, and crap. Basically TV people can get away by using a group of people, some who are unpaid or all unpaid, and leaving a camera man on them for a few months. It means no expendature for money they are making, so they can fill in awkward tv sheduels WIHTOUT having to think. Its a dream come true.

"lets spend 30k by getting F List celebs or joe public into a room......best yet we can film the f****n thing, and air it for 5 hours a day"

No offense to them, but Reality TV means that they can basicalyl have you watching poeple doing NOTHING AT ALL and call it entertainment. The hairdressing one was a prime example. It was basically 2hours of TV a day dedicated to video cameras in a normal work place - which is where these programs are going. The TV producers are sitting back, laughing their arses off as they do NOTHING, making stacks of cash due to no expendature.

I barely watch tv nowadays, the last things i did watch were:
2part docu about Michaelangelo
World war 2 docu
Time team

I am only 24 and i feel like I should be about 100 with that as my TV schedule - but honestly, i want to watch something that is interesting, factual and decent. After that, give me REAL tv entertainment programs or films. I love the simpsons thouhg - best tv show ever, its just that here we repeat the same 20 episodes ad nauseum.

Right now i am searching for Babylon 5, as i wanted to see what it was that so many poeple love so much

the only one i like is that cruel summer that's on trouble, where they get loadsa teenagers to do gross stuff, based on what the viewers vote for...

the worst thing was when they had to lick jam off of an old man's hairy stinky armpit, ugh!

@Cardy, that sounds Like fear factor, the show, not our favorite Mod

Really gross eating parts of the show that involve moving with your mouth, fresh ground worms, scorpians and beetles and that was one episode.

The TV I watch... well, I watch mainly:

- The News
- Nevermind the Buzcocks
- Any of the old / classic British comedies
- Time Team (that's a great show, gotta like Phil, eh Chips? )
- Dead Ringers
- Little Britain
- TOTP 2 (very occaisionally though)
- Any live gigs (only bands I like)
- Any Motor Sport shows (ITV have messed up WRC coverage!!!)

Thats about it, I may watch some US comedies, though not very often, but Cheers is damn good!

I want to go on Surrivor! As a scout, I'd kick ass. Unfortunaly, only Americans can join.

The Government of Quebec suggested there be a surrivor in the northern part of Quebec. They never did it, know why? Can't have babes in bikinis with -40c + windchill weather.

Isn't reality TV a sort of oxymoron?
