Favourite Game Developer of All time?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Favourite Game Developer of All time?

Whether living or dead. EA-ed or not which do/did you love the most? Why? What were some of their games ? When did they live from and to?

Mine

Origin (80's - 2001)

They created Wing Commander and Ultima. I dare you to find an RPG other than Planescape Torment which is on par with Ulima<ANYTHING>(There was no Ultima 9).Wing Commander revolutinezed the genre in my opinion, with this we were'nt just flying around shooting. We did it for a reason, we BECAME Maverick, we felt his pain at losing Angel and the betrayl of Hobbes and Cobras murder. Then there were the perrephials. Having Ultima wasn't just one thing?. When you opened the box out tumbled a manuel, some books and a cloth map. Consistently. I still now have my little Avatar figure that I got with the Ultima 7 Special Pack. WIng Commander gave us perirphials in a detailed back plot and in a special pack a couple of ship models. Origin were FOR the gamers until EA. Only after Uo did they die. They died completely when U9 was made and UO2 was canned.

Square Soft, for "US Versions" Final Fantasy for Nintendo, Final Fantasy 3 for superNintendo, Final Fantasy 5 I think Terra was the hero, and Best Of All, Final Fantasy 7 All great games. Longest on played was 3 for 34 hours straight.

This is indeed a good question and will take some pondering. The first one that comes to mind is Looking Glass Studios, they don't exist anymore but I did love the work they did, Thief 2 was brilliant. Still, I shall come back with fuller list after I've thought about it some more.

cavedog, for total annihilation

ahhhhhhhhhh. My first proper computer game TA2 (Nb. TA: kingdoms was not TA2 but was a waste of time :p ) is theoretically scheduled for the end of this year but I've heard nothing about it other than that.

Like... Mustang was it? Looking Glass Studios springs to mind, they created some sublime games.

Creative Assembly I'm a fan of, Medieval: Total War they also seem to iron out many problems before shipping and get out a patch if required nice and quickly. Although maybe that's just due to games appearing in America first and many of the bugs being delt with before they reach UK.

I'd like to say Firaxis for Civ3 and Sim City games but the games always seem to need quite a few patches.
