Crop Circles

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

OY! HELLO!?!!! People wake up! This topic is not even worth discussing, the circle makers have been owning up since 1998? wtf?!!

I was going to post the link that Phenobii did - its been a favourite of mine for a few years too - but everyone seems to have ignored the poor guy, so I feel obliged to try again on his behalf...

its just GM crops they preprogram them to lie down in a prearranged pattern
(to save drunk farmers from having to get out of bed) to do it in the middle of the night

seriously though it is just one big hoax and as grom says there are plenty of people admitting to doing it

Nice art. Not too good for the harvest, though.

Gromit, thanks for reposting that link.
For some reason I'm the odd man out here most days, and I can sometimes feel thoroughly ignored.

Thanks for the back up.

So humans make them eh? Well If I were a mischivous teen with a 2x4 and some rope (oh wait... I am ) I wouldn't imagine for a minuite that anybody would think aliens had done it. Mt point is,the first crop circle would have apeared to me anyway to be a bunch of punks messing up my field (were I a farmer). Not aliens.

... so where did the alien Idea come from? Perhaps it's the truth...

Don't worry, Phen. I read every post in the topics in which I reply. I don't always respond, but I'm listening to you.

Yes it is possible that they are man made, but how would you explain a circle appearing in 15 minutes (a big one as well). I read it on one website, maybe one i gave link to, but dont know. Anyway here is the situation:

A Crop Circle hunter was flying his plane over the fields, patroling. In his first patrol, he did not notice anything, no people no circles, only empty field. 15 minutes later on his return trip, while flying over the same field he noticed a formation on the fiels.

Now how would thisbe possible?

he was stoned?

I live in that area. It happened at Stonehenge (I'm 5/10 mins down the road), right next to the A303 in broad daylight. That section of the A303 is always very busy as it's just shifted from dual to single carrigeway. It was also a surprisingly complex one - impossible to do in 15mins. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Also, if you stand in the middle of a crop circle and shut your eyes you'll start to feel dizzy and have an urge to turn around and around. It's damn odd...

I won't believe any miraculous formations of any crop circles until I see one appear in front of my eyes. I believe that any statements concerning witnessing alien activity (including UFO sighting) is just a desperate needto draw attention at all costs. I mean, if I saw sth extraordinary, then I'm special, right?

what if you see stuff but don't think it's aliens? I've seen ufos but i dont think for a second theyre aliens, cos I dont believe in aliens. secret military projects, yes. seen crop circles too, dont think theyre aliens, except maybe illegal ones!

The problem with this account is that it was a crop circle hunter who is reporting the manifestation. Whether he is telling the whole truth is tainted by the obvious bias that can be read into the situation because of what he set out to do in the first place... without corroborative support. It's just his word.

I can imagine (having seen what they use to do it) it taking less than 15 minutes to make the circle itself. The guys who made the circle very easily could have hidden from view during the "hunter's" overflight, made the circle with their circle making equipment and then ducked for cover again
before the searcher returned.

Don't forget that the crop itself is tall and gives good cover.

Besides, like Grom said, its been debunked for a while now. The culprits have 'fessed up. The most famous circles, the ones that made the news and caused the original stir, are now accounted for as man-made either by very bored farmers or by local pranksters.

Nope, It was just a regular guy up flying in the nice weather...

And as for hidding then doing the circles... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Have you seen the size of that one? Not a chance, Unfortunately I couldn't find a pic of that one but it consisted of a spiral of about 30 circles getting smaller as the went out, and perpendicular to each of these circles on both sides were 3 smaller ones each getting smaller, making about 180 circles... tell me they did that in 15 mins next to one of the busiest roads in the area in the middle of the day, and yes they would have easily been visible working from the road (due to it facing a largish hill) unless they did it all crouching (still likely to have been seen even so) and there's no way they'd have got it that accurate or do it that speedy in that time.

I'm not saying I know what makes them and I don't really want to start speculating. I know some ARE made by humans, but I don't see how all of them can be done so geometrically perfect with no physical damage to the crop so fast.
