Stinger - Bah! Outlook and Outlook Express are practically the same; they're both buggy, easy to exploit, and a bad idea to have on your system. Mmm, kind of like Windows
Esquilax, you are sorely mistaken my good friend. The differences between Outlook and Outlook Express are like night and day. Please, I can appreciate someone saying something based on their own experiences BUT when it's so horribly wrong, I am compelled to set the record straight.
Case in point, does anyone know what an Outlook form is and what it can do? (Taw, be quiet.). You won't find anything even close to that in Express. Here's a hint, it's a template that every single person uses when the use Outlook.

Secondary question...what is a "one-off" form...anyone? Also, the security behind Outlook makes Outlook Express look like a hole the size of Texas. Outlook used in conjunction with an Exchange server is a piece of fine art in the hands of an Exchange administrator that knows what they are doing.
leonhart, I'm quite positive that if you were to have the time, experience, and dedication you could fix that computer of yours with some serious concentrated troubleshooting. But to be honest...you're not yet ready to delve into that world. No offense intended at all, I'm just being realistic from reading all your posts. It's certainly not from a lack of being able to listen and learn, trust me on that one. If a thrid of my customers were as patient as you I'd be living a much less stressful life.
That Win XP disk doesn't have Outlook on it. It's most likely the Outlook Express version that comes with every XP install since Internet Explorer 6.0 is part of that load. Bottom line, you'll have at least one email client on a reinstall.
Have you considered repairing instead of reformatting and reinstalling XP?

If that recovery CD is what I think it is, I'd opt for that first and see where it leads you. Some of those recovery CD's do quite nicely to recreate "out-of-the=box" status.
Keep us informed, someone might learn something.
