Do ya feel lucky, punk?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Do ya feel lucky, punk?

We have had numerous movie threads in days gone by but have we ever had an actor thread?

I recently watcher "Dirty Harry" and "Magnum Force" and it got me thinking about Clint Eastwood. What's you favorite movie of his? Mine would have to be "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"

Aye, Pale Rider gets my vote, as does unforgiven (but its a shameful 2nd to pale rider). I like the G, B & U, but prefered a fist full of dollars. There was one more - like pale rider, but the name totally escapes me. It was another awesome cowboy film - but the name? lol. Ends with them being attacked whilst holed up in a bungalo by the indians i think it was (who tried to get in through the roof).

However, for total change, I also loved "right turn clyde". Yup - any which way but loose, and Any which way you can. They were amusing.

Anyways........"I reckon so" - almost as good as John Wayne and 'that'll be the day"

Were you thinking of The Outlaw Josey Wells?

Where Eagles Dare by far. Unholy awesome movie.

Clint generally puts in a good performance in anything he does. My personal fav is Unforgiven, I appreciate that it's a plodder mostly but thats the point, it's only the last 20mins that it literally explodes in front of you as Clint's character finally returns to his violent past. Brilliant direction. Pale Rider is a more satisfying film though (even if it is a remake of Shane)

it's hard to criticise Clint, he's a thorough professional and an excellent director too. I was never a big fan of Sandra Locke, I thought she dragged his films down.

i didn't really like Space Cowboys, but it was nice to see James Garner get a bit of work again.

I agree with Taw, Clint can do no wrong. Yeah Space Cowboys was a crap film, but you can't knock the cast - one of the all-time best line-ups, shame the script let them down.

Its difficult to choose my favourite clint film, but I am a massive fan of "A few dollars more" (in fact that whole trilogy to be honest), "unforgiven" was good as a come back, the "dirty harry" series were all great....however 3 of my top clint films are as follows...

1. The Gauntlet
2. 2 Mules for Sister Sara
3. Play Misty for Me.

...and of course "Firefox" gets a special mention

To be honest the more I think about it the more I find it impossible to say which of his films I like the most....Pale Rider, Where Eagles Dare, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Every which way but loose, Hang 'em high, Dirty Harry, In the Line of Fire, Escape from Alcatraz, Kelly's Heroes, Outlaw Josey Wales, High Plains Drifter....good god its impossible...I love them all...

I must see this "Unforgiven" movie...

I got to dig up a copy of pale rider again. Been a few years since I saw it and this thread has stired up the interest.

IMHO Escape from Alcatraz was the highlight of Clint Eastwood's acting career. Frickin pearler of a movie.

I thought Patrick McGoohan rather stole the show in that film.

How about "Bronco Billy?"

Post Fri Feb 06, 2004 7:01 pm

The outlaw josie wales - yup - that was it - was a big "cowboy" film fan when a kid. First - John Wayne - then the more gritty westerns with Clint (obviuosly far superior to some as well).

Course - coburn, stewart, and then john ford westerns were also staple diets - but nothing quite like stuck in the mind than Clints ones (yes - I loved A fist full of dollars, Few dollars more, and the good, the bad, and the ugly. )

Wasn't it A fist full of dollars or a few dallors more that a lot of the voices were dubed?

whats the one where he's a presidential bodyguard and he gets it on with Rene Ruso? i liked that one, which is saying alot because i dont really rate ol' Clint.
I thought Malkovich was better in it though, that gun he makes...mint.
