This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@Gromit - i understand you there. I end up watching *ducks* Have i Got News For You.............kinda a Friday Night Ritual - I find the show hilarious - even though i was late catching on (translation, i got older, so political jokes and other stuff appeared funnier). I prefer to wait the week out for the next episode of anything new, EVEN if its repeats of stuff - just cause, well, it gives you something to look forward too..........

My only wish is that TV channels would dump the crap about reality/decorating/gardening/celebrity/hairdressing/ all the other annoying rubbish TV shows that are forced down at popular times, and show some more decent stuff. Am thinking about getting one of those boxes so i can watch bbc 3 and 4, cause they seem to have some okay stuff. Just wish that 2 showed more Simpsons though. It used to be a channel that had some touch and go programs, like new comidies that they didn't know would work etc, but now it just seems to house crap. Same for Channel 4, but its been overrun by reality rubbish.

The thing about reality T.V is that it is really cheap to make, in comparison to othe T.V shows. In the end, T.V companies just want to make money. It just doesn't from most of what they show being utter cack though...

@grom: ive watched it all from the start and it blew my freaking mind. I rang all my friends up frantically to ask if anyone had seen it and they were all at the cinema.

So ive got like 1 guy i know who i leant the dvd to and is as hooked as me. Seriously thoug. you cant get soemone to watch from the 2nd series onward or, perish the though, the third. Because you wont GET the tension when Jack and a certain person square off in a cell, or this that and the other.

Geek question this but do you cheer at the TV when characters like "Ryan Chapelle" and "Aaron Pierce" get shown in a new series. i love bloody continuity, it makes me happy.

Also, you think your sad canceling social appointments for 24, i did that AND i have a competition with my brother about who knows the most. 24 Hot Quiz is a common passtime at the "House of Arcon"

"Bang Bang, he shot me down, Bang Bang, i hit the ground,
Bang Bang, that awful sound, Bang Bang, my baby shot me down."

Looks like it's turned into a TV series discussion club. Unfortunately, I haven't seen these, so it's hard to say sth (I anticipate Archon's reply - "so shut up" or sth in that manner , but I just wanted to announce that I'm actively dealing with my hangover now and life's gradually starting to make sense. It's bull***t, I know, but I'm so happy I don't feel sick anymore
P.S. Please pardon a "chemically inconvenienced" guy for posting nonsense

It's better to be a worldwide known drunkard than an anonymous alcoholic!

gripes? gripes? I'll give you gripes..

s*dding Ebay is costing me a bl**dy fortune, and my inbox is bomarded with ebay cr*p about jewellery, shoes, dolls and crafts. She sells the stuff now but oddly enough the payments go direct to her and the costs go to me (hey great arrangement, I pay for everything) and now she's discovered MSN as a means of getting hold of me everywehere I go where theres a computer and i darent try to be offline because she'll just trash my puter through stupidity and/or petulance.

car dealers and ridiculously expensive services on new cars, an unholy alliance if there ever was one.

seeing my income tax\council tax wasted on ridiculous schemes that benefit people who aren't British and have never contributed to our society and have no intention of doing so, but will happily take our social security money.

speed cameras - a blatant means of extorting further taxation. if theyre meant to improve safety why arent they outside schools and hospitals more?

top-up fines, now this one really winds me up. if im caught speeding by the above, i also have to pay an extra fine for crimes that are nothing to do with me, because the courts cant get the money out of the smackheads and drunks so theyre stinging the motorist for it. f*** that!

Tv licence, i watch Sky exclusively, why should I pay a Tv licence fee?

Toll roads - I pay road tax for the upkeep of the roads, i shouldnt have to pay to use them again and neither should you.

Coppers and their smug arrogant attitude.

Stupid people who wont even try to fix something or sort something out themselves despite hhaving been shown/ told/explained to countless times.

People who lie about paying their debts. its pathetic. just behonest and say "ah'm skint"

people who take the p*ss over unpaid computer help - like my brother-in-law yes thats you Philip I know you read TLR:OT

most other lies.. can't stand em esp stupid lies. at least be inventive.

corporate custoner service, 'tis sh*te and getting worse.

anything like Buffy/Angel/Roswell High/Dark Angel all that stuff.

untidiness.

thats enuff for now.

lol. thats a whoooolllle lotta gripes there mate, and I agree with most of them...

people who take the p*ss over unpaid computer help

f'in tell me about it....I spent most of my weekends last year helping "friends of the family" who I really couldn't give a flying monkeys arse about, "getting them on the internet" etc etc. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGHHHH! There hasn't been a week go by in the last three years where someone has rung me up at home for a little technical support. Its irritating as hell especially as its not even my f'in job. I work on a computer - so what, so does 3/4 of the f'in country nowadays BUY A BOOK.

GRRRRR.

@arc yep, I'm one of those 24 nerds that screams at the tv and points when someone comes into a new series that was in the last....especially *cough* end of series 2 *cough* Did you ever watch 24 Heaven on BBC3? It was on straight after the last series' episodes and had "normal" people in the audience discussing each show. My gf and I almost applied to go on it because we decided that we were nerdier than the rest of them Can't wait for series 3....hope it lives up to the first 2.

/never seen 24. always miss it.

will have to buy DvD, just like Band of Brothers. if Arch and Grom say it's good, then I know I'll like it, cos they pretty much like evrything I like and haven't been wrong with recommendations yet.

Post Fri Jan 23, 2004 3:11 pm

@grom: yeah, my jaw was on the floor when the *cough* character game in at the end of S2. I cheer when Chapelle tells someone to stop being a ponse and do some work. Also, where the hell is Milo? i mean really?

24 is compulsive, but also unwatchable to the uninitiated. I couldnt stand it watching the show with someone who DOESNT get the importance of a character and says "who's he again?".

Did you ever notice how the women in 24 ALL die? im not talking just the occasional woman, im talking Snuff Film here. EVERYONE seems to end up dead. I think its the get out clause of the writers, if a character has served his/her purpose or is JUST about to. it would be a good time to kill them.

And the Gripe of the Day award goes to...wow, it's a close one between Arcon and Taw, but I'm afraid the winner is: Tawakalna! Congratulations! You have the most issues, for today!
