This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Yah well, no one understood the original topic

We know very little about the universe and even physics. I mean, much of the "laws" and theories that we have are currently unprovable. Mmm, sounds like philosophy...

mixing philosophy and physics .....one of my greatest acheivements......

of course a little theology thrown in for flavor, as well as polotics......but we don't talk about that stuff here , no we don't , no sir , no way, no how.........

anyway....what I was going to bring up about the alternate realities, and all time existing simultaneously, it would seem to me that somewhere in the great web of reality there would possibly be a version of myself at a point in the future and possibly along a different timeline, that had somehow managed to become omnipotent, being infinite possibilities and infinite time this may be possible, however if this were so then obviously this omnipotent me would be the only true me, and every lesser version would just be a manifestation of the greater one since the omnipotent version would be able to move through any of the timelines at his leisure and in any direction he would want to, this of course would create a serious paradox if I existed at the same time and place as myself. Now of course this leads me to one of two conclusions, either Space/time doesn't simultaneously exist, or omnipotence is not possible, meaning that reality doesn't have infinite possibilities, and once agian ruining this theory.....So I'm gonna have to go with linear time/space for the "time" being.

I hope that was suitably confusing for ya

this second edit aught to show you just how boring my job is at this shift.....

I have just came up with a theory that might be able to allow for the existance of two me's at the same point in time but at different points in space. Perhaps if this wholey unpresidented event ever happened, the two me's would sort of merge, as in share sensory input and memory, esentially becoming one mind in two bodies. This of course would get into something a tad more metaphysical than what I had intended but......meh no ones really responding much to it anyway so.......

Using that sort of logic, a person could prove anything! Still, you are stating that in one reality there would be an "omnipotent" you, however how would such an event occur? If you are referring to quantum theory; with each decision and event causing another reality, then what possible event could lead to omnipotence? A genetic abnormality? A visit from aliens?? This is where it starts to get murky, because you would need to find a probable catalyst that would make omnipotence feasible, which would therefore begin to validate your theory.

Determining what the actual event that would cause this condition is not neccesary. The Theory states that there are INFINITE possibilities....If an omnipotent version of myself is not one of those possibilities than those possibilities are NOT infinite, and if they are not infinite than the entire theory is bunk. And the flipside, if the omnipotent me does exist, than none of the other paths really matter anymore, and neither would time or anything else for that matter. and once again the theory is bunk.

Exactly my point, however I feel that the element of causality is important, especially since if we have concluded the possible cause of omnipotence, this will help us to ascertain whether or not there are infinite probablities.

Easier said than done my friend.........truly if you have any decent theories on attaining ultimate power.....I will be happy to test them for you

I would think though that something as significant as that would not be a singular event but rather a chain of perfect choices and circumstances that would have began from the moment of conception all the way until the attainment of said ultimate power......but like I said, in order for there to be infinite possibilities than no possibilities can be left out, So to take it even a more ludicrous step. if It is possible for me to attain Omnipotence in another alternate reality/time/whatever, then the possibility also exists that I was born with it already. I Don't think I have to point out the ABSOLUTE paradox of two omnipotent beings let alone two that were both me.

I agree with you. Mmm, well I think we've killed that topic. Anyone else have one?

@Taw, I would be interested to know what part of that was quantum mechanics. AFAIK quantum mechanics is esentially the study of matter and radiation at an atomic level...
