Reality

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Reality

As far as I can tell there seems to be two major theories as to what reality looks like....

First is the linear reality showing time as stretching into the infinite of past and future and the point we travel on is the present.....

second is a sphereical reality that has all time/space existing simultaneously including alternate timepaths and all of that.....

lemme know what you think....and if you think there are better explainations....

Good?....Bad?......I'm the guy with the gun.

what do you mean by reality? you sound like youre atalking about astrophysics, the space-time continuum; but you could also spark off a discussion about how we percieve and experience reality, in which case we could be discussing this forever! Can you be more specific please?

that sort of stuffs too complicated for me

I agree with Taw. We don't want to start discussing the curvature of space-time, in thread do we? Actually, I was thinking of creating an Astronomy/Astrophysics thread. Should I?

no we did that not long ago and it just became a haven for every crackpot theory and star-trek inspired techno-babble idea in existence.

Yes! We want an Astronomy thread, BUT AN ASTRONOMY thread and only that, not a "WOT IF THAR WOZ TIME TRAVEL" thread.....I have an idea to keep the *freaks out, keep it 100% astrophysics jargon, or try explaining Einsteins general and special relativity, that'll keep all the *wierdos out, and all the smart ones who know what their talking about IN.

anyway what he's thinking of isn't really astrophysics, it's an extension of cosmology and the idea of "reality" doesn't come into it - it's perception of macrocosmic time.

i strongly suggest a reading of "Time's Arrow, Time's Cycle" by Stephen Jay Gould, and a familiarisation with the concept of "deep time" which is absolutley central to any discussion on this particular subject.

Reality is a forward loop. Meaning, the past is constantly repeating itself untill it gets to the present, but the future is undesided, so it can't go past the present.

It kinda looks like the Male Symbol

Life: No one gets out alive.

I'd contribute to the discussion, but I'll wait until a specific thread opens up. Ah, stuff it! Is anyone familiar with the theory of "white" holes?

going back to the original post, there is a third. it's both. Time (and space) are cyclical but because your IN time you can only a priori expereience it as linear, so for all intents and purposes that's what it is. sounds like a paradox? it is, but most of the fundamentals of the universe are. Solid matter is largely empty space, there's another paradox. they're all over the place.

Reality is your perspective on life. My Fantasy may be someone elses reality. It is relative to you - "You are the only reality in your existence!" (something I said in 1998)

whote holes create matter, black holes destroy it
