Going to MIT, I like it too a good friend of mine from high school is also there too so it's good to have a friend to back you up when you ask the lab assistant out.

University of Leeds
Colour Chemistry and Polymer Physics 1998-2002 (it was a three year course, but i lost a year due to drinking
PGCE Leeds University Secondary Science.(2002-2003)

My God - i spent longer at Uni than i did doing GCSE's and A-Levels. Only felt like a few weeks

Anyone in the UK who is applying to uni, it will be worth your while sticking one choice down as Leeds. Seriously, best city in UK for students

dirty damn leeds. I have a mortal enemy in Leeds, plus the yokels sound so dense (not that in bolton they dont )

Arcon, my sister is at Bristol UWE - I know, not the same, but she lives closer to Bristol Campus than UWE.

I had a friend at Leeds Uni, she didn't like it and anyone who wants to study in Southampton or Portsmouth is barmy (unless they are southerners). You should study in the north - much more fun, and a lot less expensive - apparently

Ummm. What's wrong with Southampton? Looks like a big school, 20K plus enrollment? Faculty of 5K? That's not a bad ratio... altho I'm sure the classes in the lower levels are quite huge.

Or is the criticism of the school in inverse proportion to how well it is regarded?

Nothing wrong. there's just a tinsy bit of rivalry between Southampton and Portsmouth

Oh, that post - doh! thought you meant top-gun's post. However, I'd also like to know, why am I barmy? I only had 3 choices that did the course - Southampton, Plymouth and Bangor... Awesome place, I love it, apart from the attacks that've happened recently. Some of you may have seen on the news that police have apprehended a suspect. The first 2/3 attacks the girls escaped but the last one was a bit more serious, anyway, that all happened about 100m from my room... then again, you can't really hold that against Southampton, it happens all over the place.
