@Chips, think that's bad, I remember starting at 2400 baud modems. Yikes is that slow!! If I were to download that file with 2400 baud it would take at least a day!

@Shadowtech, remind me. Is this the fan production using Wing Commander ships or was that another?

wasn't that the "Fleet Action" project with the WC ships? i thought that died a death.

@Taw, I don't remember well enough. Although, the sector "Vega" was a major portion of the WC series.

in the days when I was on speaking terms with the wcnews.com crowd, the Fleet Action project was the only real light on the horizon for WC; a year later it had moved no further along, and I presume now, 3 or 4 years later, it never got finished, or I'd have heard about it. U r correct, Vega Sector is a major element in the WC universe (as is Gemini Sector for us Privateer fans, thus fulfilling yet another one of ur rules!)

Sorry to drift Off-Topic like this but what happened with the speaking terms between you and the Wcnews.com, did they dissipate under a loud roar of arguments and sarcasm??

Will I need to use a joystick?

The game confuses me... no matter how many keys i use to turn towards a planet... i still end up strafing sideways and away from the planet. HELP!!!
It has good graphics for being free.

Loc it's a long story. Let's just say I wasn't happy about the way certain people's egos were pandered to. Let's draw a hypothetical analogy and imagine that 'Gib posted in almost every thread and you were never allowed to disagree with him, and if you did you got flamed by about 1/2 dozen hangers-on who would then proceed to send you abusive e-mails which included death threats? That's what wcnews.com used to be like, and for all i know still is. I wish them nothing but DoS attacks!

TLR is about as different from that as it's possible to get. Wcnews is still useful occassionally as a resource, but I will never contribute to it again. There are other Wing Commander sites and forums that are just as useful and a lot more helpful, and tbh most people here at TLR are well-up on WC anyway.
