How's this for worse ... Spider was another recent addition to our forum and he made several stupid comments about travelling back in time to spread the magic, or something like that. I warned him behind several of his posts to not be so silly. Then a poster named Mullet struck and started running rampant. Spider kept posting nonsense and for a bit of time I thought I had two prick posters to deal with. But Spider finally backed off and later realized how stupid he seemed ... and the timing to be stupid was absolutely the worst. I haven't seen him since. I hope I didn't get him banned by accident.

There's also the kind of spam where people just repeat what the last person said, which is really annoying. Sometimes it happens accidentally because they're too lazy to read all the replies (I know I've done this) but if you're too lazy to read the replies, you shouldn't take the time to post anything.

Regarding the spamming on TLR, there is one radical option for stopping the spam; the Powers That Be could remove the ranking system, thereby eliminating the need to post so much spam. It could work, but I imagine that spam would still occur regardless. Besides, would anyone here wish their rank removed? I doubt it.

I think sS's idea of SWAT mods would be a good idea, they just have the ability to lock threads and requese deletion or edition of posts.
Whenever they lock a thread, an e-mail is sent to an actual moderator who is in the same time-zone as the SWAT mod saying that a thread has been locked, providing a link to the thread in question and asking to confirm the lock or unlock the thread.

Oh, the story is going a bit slow at the moment, i seem to be coming down with some sort of bug.
