I hated the first Spiderman, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too predictable, like any girlie teen film. that's what it reminded me of actually lol. I'm not gonna fork out to go c this one at the pictures, i'll stick to Black Hawk Down, TYVM! I much preferred Daredevil (the one with Ben "Cheated on J-Lo" Affleck, Colin "Bullseye" Farrell, and that fit bird).

I must admit, I only saw the trailer. But anyways, it looked to fake to me. Just like the Hulk. So I decided not to watch them, although I was a huge fan of the Spiderman cartoon.

I was a massive fan of the spiderman comic books when i was growing up - and I can honestly say that I thought the first film did the franchise real justice. You don't normally get a feel for the characters in comic book adaptations and I think that the script-writers got it right with that one.

Someone mentioned daredevil - true, it was a good film, great action scenes and reasonably well cast, but it was a lousy script and I thought that it did no justice to the original comic. sorry.

I thought it was a pretty good reimage changing todays bugaboo DNA with yesteryears nuke radiation. Grew up on the comic and cartoons as well cant wait for this one BTW I guess the rumour that the next movie would be about the lizard was just that. Doc Ock is cool tho cant wait for venom tho

Actually, I am VERY critical of movies and television (studied too much Literature at school ) but "Spiderman" really worked for me. The action scenes were good, the acting by Willem Dafoe was excellent, and for once, the hero didn't get the girl! That has always irritated me, movies almost always seem end the same way. You know, guy kills evil person, gets girl, goes home, etc.

Yeah, so I'm getting cynical is my old age. What are YOU going to do about it?

I'm very critical of movies too, check out some of the past film related threads, but Spiderman really worked for me....and I agree about the hero not getting the girl, definitely better. Not sure about willem dafoe's acting in it though...thought it was a bit iffy myself....but not tooooo bad.

Gotta admit though, it did help that Kirsten dunst got wet

was i the only one who got wet too? lol j/k. the film was ok, but i prefer more action-oriented films like Black Hawk Down, Training Day, etc. I tend to shy away from anything bearing the name Spiderman. Ever watched them crappy remakes on FOX kids on TV? Ugh . . . they make me cringe!

Training Day. Awesome film but it wasnt really an ACTION film per-se. Sure BHD was but i'd say that Spidey was more action than Training Day.

For a comic book character turned movie character Spiderman was one of the better ones. I was more a fan of Sam Raimi the director and went to see it because of him. But now I'd see another Spiderman film regardless who directed it. Not one I watch very often, but watchable.

You Canucks are in a whole nother world aren't you? I for one am getting really annoyed that 90% of films made in the US takes place in Los Angeles or New York. Like I want to be associated with those two places.
