... are okay and entertaining, but I always get the impression they're showing off every mutant to do with the story. (Which is probably what I should have expected) At times they do things a bit without reason, or things happen a bit without reason.

It just reminds me of some of the stupid alien/natural disaster movies where the creators are thinking "With this modern day of special effects, what monument should we blow up this time?!" Only in this case "This mutant has this ability, with special effects, what should be blown up/ripped apart this time?!"

It's entertaining, but just a tad sloppy. But then I'm approaching it from an action movie standpoint, not a comic book perspective.

dan dare as a movie....now that would be superb! taw have you seen the recent computer animated tv series (think its on sky one)?? Its pretty impressive...quite well done...although I think the voice of the mekon is not quite right.

I saw the trailer for SM2 last night. It looked pretty kool.

If you remember from the comics, Spider-Man was set in NYC. Marvel has a history of using real cities in its comics, unlike DC i.e. Metropolis.

I thought that the character development and action and the fact that he didn't get the girl were all good things about the film. I loved it and can't wait for 2!!

@Topher, I realise the comic was based in NY, and I wouldn't change it. My comment was more general reference to all movies. It wouldn't be possible to have Spiderman in a small town with no buildings to latch his web onto or a smaller city with only a couple swings worth of buildings. It was a general comment. I just hate being associated with New York as if that is how the rest of the country acts.

i totally prefer DC to Marvel in every way. For a start theyre better storylines, the characters are ALOT darker and alot cooler. I think that if Marvel didnt have Stan Lee and his mutants, it would be a sorry state of affairs.

I think that Marvel as a whole has better character plots. Batman, however; has the best character plots and storylines in all of comic-dom... Probably the only DC character I like. Mainly because he is one of the few that is just a man, no superpowers, not an alien, just good with gadgets and insanely rich. DC's flagship character, Superman, is just too all-powerful.

Some of Marvels characters are just as dark as DC: Wolverine for one, has a past and present just as chaotic good as Batman. And, imho, Marvel's characters are generally more believable in thier attributes.

I also liked X-man (Famke ) and the batman movies (Kim, Michelle )
