One concern is that if your resident population has interaction with an outside population, the current problem may accelerate and introduce unwanted bacteria and microscopic parasite exposures to your household.

We had fleas on our cat not to long ago. after we got the little bugger clean we put moth balls in to a fresh vacuum bag and vac'ed like mad for like a week the ammonia (or what ever) in mothe balls kills the little buggers. Also they do sell flea traps and mebbe your local exterminator will have some in stock, rather than spray all over the house

Ah, but my dad is also opinionated... all animals are "flea busses" and will only serve to bring them in -_-

Got some of those ultra-sonic pest repeller things. Thier total cr*p. Don't buy.

Hey. I'm sorry, I didn't notice your qualification in the lead post about these bugs not being visible so that you don't think they are fleas. Question that I cannot answer is what "not visible" would mean in terms of size. You said your Dad was working at a place that was a chicken farm*...... Check out these sites. They refer to a red mite which, in larges size is about 0.38mm or less for females and 0.28mm for males.

While they usually only infest poultry, they are known also to victimize mammals, including humans. Instead of fleas, your Dad may have picked up these little devils.

Also, since they seem to persist with you Dad, there's got to be something that he comes into contact with repeatedly each day either that he wears or that he uses
that is the host site now for the bugs, mites or fleas or what have you. You're still going to have to deconstruct, even at this late stage to root out all of the host source(s).

Ummm. To be more clear (but still wrong about it) I had meant to relate that WLB's Dad was helping out on a weekend at a place that used to be a chicken farm. I did not write this post to say that WLB's father actually worked at a chicken farm.

Not working at achiken farm. His dad's house was next door to a guy with chickens and the house got infested BAD. That's where they came from. The red mite thing sounds good though. Will check out those links...
