This is the first text I have ever written where I need to precede it with a statement of intentions and disclosures:

The following play is a loose interpretation of real events. Much of what follows did happen, albeit not necessarily in the order or as precisely as it occurred. The people's names from Microsoft have been changed to protect their identity. And let it be known that the apparition in the beginning from Microsoft was a hoax and thus anything said by it is not to constitute Microsoft's position on any matters.

Every effort to maintain the integrity of the unfolding events and accurate portrayal of characters was taken. This does not mean that it is in any way absolute or a perfect portrayal of anyone involved in these events, and this text does admittedly fall short from time to time. It is to be taken with good humor and, as the saying goes, a grain of salt.

Many statements are lifted directly from the event which occurred in the public internet forums of Lancers Reactor then translated into a mock Olde English. The arguments are kept sound and in some cases enhanced for a more poignant debate. They are sometimes separated for use at different times, so the order in which they appear cannot be relied upon. Both sides of the discussion are represented with respect to accuracy where possible. Plot points between arguments are generally fabricated to fit a style and story similar to "Hamlet - Prince of Denmark" by William Shakespeare. It is ultimately a fictional tale with merely a basis of fact. No one can infer the exact events as they actually occurred from this fictional text.

Several things to consider before reading this play:

Both sides of this issue presented many good arguments on their behalf. However, both sides of this issue also partook in some amount of verbal hostilities. If you cannot admit that, then you have no business reading this.

This does not mean you will find any character unjustly ridiculed in this play. Though, it is best to learn to laugh at yourselves, I make fun of myself in my writings all the time. I do it to myself in this play.

Although I have had some good humored dealings with the posters known in this play as "The Allies of Lancers Reactor" and have had relatively few discourses with anyone from Starfyre, my place in this debate is completely neutral. There are many points made by both sides of the arguments with which I do agree and I do disagree. I have no allegiance to one side or the other of the debate.

It is not my intention to stir more anger. Although some things in this play are not pleasant, they are not as bad as you might fear. This is intended as a release of anxiety and stress. If you cannot make light of the situation, I suggest you do not read. After all, this whole fiasco was a short amount of time of your long lives. Do not let it consume you and spend more of your time in anger.

For those of you who would argue these points to the contrary, I point to a quote from Reynen Starfyre in the thread: "To those that have a problem with SS or TNG."

Lastly you guys do realize that I have not been angry in alot of this stuff and purposely made my statements the way they are so that it would get people riled up and thinking about what is going on, and then later on when they are cooled down will think logically about it - re-read my posts - and see the logic if{in}it.

Well, I have gone back to see that logic and all else that it entails and encompasses.

In addition, there is this good example from Duriel_LOP in the thread: "If I release a mod for freelancer will M$ have a cow"

It'd be really funny if some hollywood producer made a movie out of this involving companies called StartFriar Studios, and MegaSawft

movies that would be similar are,
The Castle
Sueing God
dont know any others, lets make a list

I chose Hamlet - Prince of Denmark. I am as serious about my writing craft as Starfyre is about developing Freelancer: The Next Generation.

If at the end you feel yourself mischaracterized, I apologize. However, I can only go by what you have shown me in your discourse. If it needs to be, let this be a life lesson to always present yourself in a dignified manner. This way, no one can ever speak ill of you, misrepresent … or … misinterpret you.

This is how I interpreted the events to fit into this fictional tale:

@bakedpotato, I did ask Bargib's permission.

Bargib said it was okay to post the play,

Sir Spectre

From the play Reynet: The Prince of Starfyre:

Reynet: To be, or not to be: that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the spams and emails of outrageous Microsoftia fortune, or to take arms against a sea of lawyers. And by opposing, end them? To die: to sleep; to log off; no more; and by a sleep to say we end the heartache and the thousand natural shocks that circuit board is err to, 'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep; to sleep, perchance to dream: aye, there's the rub; for in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this Lancer coil, must give us pause. There's the respect that makes calamity of so long work; for who would bare the copies and scams of thieves? The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, the insolence of office and the spurns that patient merit of the unworthy takes? To grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after legal action? The undiscovered country from whose work is bourn no traveler returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bare those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; and thus the native hue of resolution is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, and enterprises of great pith and moment with this regard their currents turn awry, and lose the name of action!
