Look wolf, let's put this to rest. It's like this: parachutes under your airplane seats would make flights perfect. But then there's just a thing called economic reality, and noone would pay an extra hundred bucks just to have something that MIGHT be necessary.

Instant messaging in TLR is kinda dumb IMO. Can you count how many forums out there that have instant messaging? I have never seen one. Private Messaging is the closest thing to that - which is also quite dumb because it's no different than emails. Just use MSN, ICQ or any other platform of external instant messaging you want - trying to build one integrated to TLR is time and cost-consuming, and is gonna take a toll on TLR's bandwith.

Now please everybody get back on topic. I need to confer with the other mods about moving this thread to SL Forum or not.

(but ive still only encountered few who reject this idea, spectre hate instant messages but he thinks it is a good idea)

@Wolfy, yup, I hate IMs, but I think it would be a good idea on TLR, however it isn't practical. Too much effort for an unnecessary system.

@FF, I liked seeing the Starlancer thing here in Off-Topic as I really don't remember the game well enough to cite anything specific or talk about it with any real facts I can attribute. So having a very broad thread about Starlancer here in my mind is fine. But then I'm usually a little more lenient with topics than some of the mods.

I would never have gone to talk about Starlancer in one of its actual forums.

10 euros? SL, or the joystick? if ur paying that for a joystick it might just last u thru the training mission!

Nick, SL will have u slamming that js around for dear life, the game is solid, i hope uv got a good one, SL cost me 3 js, finally ending up with a near indestructible Sidewinder 2 f/f it's really hard and u have to fly like a monster.

Well, It's a Trust Predator XK 100. Dunno if it's any good.

btw, it has one of those 15-pins D-connectors for a "gameport". All I have is like a half a dozen USB ports and now I need an adapter wich prolly costs more than the js itself

Looking forward to using it on SL tho. Playing FS2 with a mouse right now. Gotta get used to all those commands. *sigh* with FL you only need like 5 keys tops.

no gameport? blimey u must have a newish machine! I'll never part with my gameport, even though i use USB like everyone else. drop me an e-mail and I'll provide you with a SB PCI 128 that has a gameport on, if u like. having to use a mouse to play any space sim (other than FL of course!) is embarassing and SL without a js is nigh on impossible.

lol, I got my pc in end March/beginning April. It was the biggest "rig" I could get atm.
I'll get me an Gameport-to-usb-adapter-cable-connector-thingy soon and have a blast. Until then I can't play SL (I tried) but I can play FS2 and I like it
