To moderator(s):

I don't know what happen to my links thread and I don't know which one of you deleted it. If there was something of offense I apologize. But I was using the links for my needed research for the play I am writing. It took me a while to gather them.

If there was something that you did not like, I wish that you would have trusted me enough to tell me so that I could correct it.

Humbly,

Sir Spectre

EDIT: I'm starting to agree with Arcon, this is some sort of weird server thing going on. For a period of about 15 minutes I kept getting server 500 error messages. This happened right before my links thread disappeared too.

5 credits says that it was Stinger's character name and the number of hands the Prince has.

Post Sun Nov 02, 2003 4:14 am

Yeah, thanks a lot Indy11. I just teasing Stinger and the three hands thing only came out of not knowing what to call Spawn. It wan't intended to be durogatory at all.

You know where I got the 3 hand thing from, Naked Gun 2 1/2 with Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley. If you haven't seen it, there was a part when Priscilla's character was going to slap Frank Dreben, she tries with the right hand, he catches it, then the left, he catches that one, then she slaps him with a third hand and he couldn't figure out where it came from.

Whatever the reason I doubt you'll get a straight answer here, so you should check your E-mail more often from this point on. I can't think of anything serious enough to make your thread gone... Maybe the fact that it's only purpose was to aid you, in which case you could've used Notepad... I mean, you probably increased the traffic a bit, and there is an unwritten law that says: "pointless threads will be locked, and in more severe cases deleted" To you it was of great value but to others it was a spam fest... Plus you teased Stinger.

EDIT: I've just read my post... D'oh!
It makes me wonder why they didn't just lock the thread... Maybe it was moved? You should check it out one more time, just to make sure. Have I mentioned how you teased Stinger?

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

i know why it was deleted.
for some reason, the thread created an error on the board (error 0x80020009), an error i am ALL TOO FAMILIAR with being an ASP programmer myself. as such, the thread couldnt be opened, and instead of creating a whole world of trouble, the quick way was to destroy it.

What would cause the error? And how do you know this to be true?

@Sir S.

LOL. Yes! Love that movie. Leslie Nielsen is God (or at least a laughing one).

... Actually, didn't he play God in one of his movies? I eve like his bad outings. Have you seen his golfing thing Bad Golf Made Easier ... or something like that?
It's absolutely terrible but he still had me laughing.

Post Sun Nov 02, 2003 5:01 am

@Sir Spectre: It's an "Exception Occured" type error. There are several reasons that cause it, this one could've been reffering to non-existant object/service (within SQL server)
Maybe this site pre-fetches/caches all urls before displaying them, and you had many of those requested from this very site, so... You see where this is going.
Bargib most probably was the one to delete the thread.

Wasn't me. Moderators have a tendency to defend each other with a vengence though. If I was being teased, I hope you picked a number and didn't dish the line on anyone.

Post Sun Nov 02, 2003 5:08 am

@Chetnik, I understood about 80% of what you said. But I didn't quite follow it all.

@Stinger, when I think myself to be in the wrong or if there is a dispute over something attributed to me, I am always curteous so as to not aggravate the situation. I have been and always will be pleasant to you moderators. I do disagree at times, but I never intend to incite anger.

@Sir Spectre
You could just create your own HTML file on your own computer and write hyperlinks into it to all of the adresses. The alll you have to do is open that page up and click on one of the links.
It's a very simple part of HTML that you'll need to use and all you need is a word processor (eg Notepad), try this if you need help.

EDIT: Now it smegging works! What is going on with this server 500 error thing?

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that since the loss of my links, I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment with having to look manually for research or redoing the list. So I willl be taking a break from writing Reynet right now.

Nah, it wasn't me either. I can't think of why it was deleted.

Post Sun Nov 02, 2003 11:46 pm

Wasn't me, can't say I've ever had cause to delete a post before.

What about Bakedpotato? He posted in my thread just before it was gone? He has never responded to me before, so he may not know my humour.

Although he did seem like he was enjoying the thread. I even tried welcoming Bakedpotato to my conversation, because I had never had a discourse with him before.
