To moderator(s):

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

WTF? your starting to disagree with Arcon.. HERSEY!

anyway, its probably because the site is getting a little loaded down, with all these connections every day (12,000 sessions was it?) the server is a little strung out. dont look TOO much into it

Post Mon Nov 03, 2003 2:47 am

Yes sorry it was me. I didn't do it because I wanted to. I did it because it was a request from... well lets just say you shouldn't of mentioned certain names.
As you probably have noticed I don't lock threads or even edit them but in this case I didn't have a choice.

Also it was just a compulation of flaming posts and this war of the modders has got to end. PERIOD

Maybe when people realize that once you submit a mod or program to Lancers Reactor it becomes public and belongs to the gaming community.

I think that if you want to include someone else's ideas in a mod you should contact the author if at all possible but a mod don't belong to anyone once it is submitted to Lancers Reactor. If you want to make shareware you need to ask the company that has the rights to that game but what is on here is public domain. That's my thoughts on the subject anyway.

I'm sorry if you got upset about your post getting deleted. Start another one if you want but please be careful about what and who you put into it.

Anyone that don't agree with me can send me an email at [email protected]
rather that post flaming remarks here.

Don't forget this is a family site. There are young people that visit this site and they follow by example.

Also the staff here at Lancers Reactor don't get paid for all the hours (sometimes up to 12 hours a day) we spend on making this site as good as we possibly can and it don't cost you anything.

A special thank's goes to Bargib who pays for this site with his own money and hard work.

ah, so it WAS devine intervention for a reason, not an error. i am shocked i got it wrong.
so what the hell is so controvertial that threads get deleted over? i am so pissed i missed this whole debacle, i love those kinda things

Post Mon Nov 03, 2003 3:48 am

@Arcon, that makes two of us. I must of missed a debate somewhere.

@Bakedpotato, I'm sorry you felt or got word from somebody that it needed to be deleted. But there was no flaming in the thread. Everyone was commenting to me about how they couldn't wait for the play I was writing.

I write my plays on actual occurances here on TLR and I treat them with as much accuracy and fairness as I can. The other moderators were posting in it and in this thread expressed they did not have any problem with it.

If you hadn't read it for yourself, then I would say you were misled by whoever it was that told you to delete it. The only reason I linked all the other threads was so I could be as accurate as I could be with respect to all involved in that episode. I used it for quick access to my research.

I will provide links to my other plays and see if you agree that I provide an entertainment value to times of annoyance or hostility. I lighten the mood not weight it down with more anger.

I hope you get some enjoyment from these, because I like to spread cheer.

@bakedpotato: Now I know why you were promoted to Admiral/Moderator...

Post Mon Nov 03, 2003 4:43 am

Gentlemen:

Your original post just served to further inflame the atmosphere of war here on Lancers. Also your mention of a legal representative of Microsoft who has regular contact with the Lancer's staff was totally disrespectful. Baked Potato was correct to delete the thread and, frankly, If I were a moderator myself, I would delete quite a few more threads, some whole forum areas, and many accounts as well.

I did not make the final decision to delete the thread, but I was consulted. I recommended that it be deleted at once and that the originator's account be deleted also. Baked has quite a bit more restraint than I do.

Thank You. Glock 36.

@Glock36

No inflamation was intended, I never meant disrespect. I just sought to be honest. For good or for bad on BOTH sides.

your mention of a legal representative of Microsoft who has regular contact with the Lancer's staff was totally disrespectful.

I said he was the "Messenger from Microsoft," he is actually the hero of the play because he brought the good news to our town. That's not disrespect that's granting honour to him.

If I were a moderator myself, I would delete quite a few more threads, some whole forum areas, and many accounts as well.
I'm sorry you disagree, but silencing those who disagree with you isn't decent.

The originator I take it is me. I wish you could see, I only want to help EVERYONE look back on this and laugh so that we are again one community. I was and always will be neutral in this. Reynen, Duriel & BobTheDog said a lot of things I agree with. Just as I also agreed with many things Chips, Wassup and Stinger said.

I have no quarrel with you and I respect you. I just ask you let go of the hostility. Let us quibble no longer, we are friends. That's what I said before and I still stand by it.

Wether it was meant as humor or not, the mentioning of the names from MS was attracting undo attention to them, and that would not be good for them, and possibly have bad repercussions for LR.
