As far as I know, Admiral and Fleet Admiral are equally high, but that the rank of Fleet Admiral has been reserved for war time use only. Rear and Vice Admiral are lower than Admiral.

well as far as the rn goes there is no fleet admiral but there is admiral of the fleet who outranks an admiral
although in this system there is no such thing as port commodore!!!!

[Steel, Fleet Admiral is an American Naval rank, the same as Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Navy

@taw - why thank you, I always knew you were intelligent with impeccable taste

@all - if the mods should be higher ranked than the rest of us minions, maybe they should be "rear penguin", "vice cheese" or other such obscure and previously unlisted ranking?
