This article says that after more calculations are made, it is likely we will find the asteroid won't hit the Earth. Besides, even if it will, theres nothing we can do, so why worry.

But they say the probability of the asteroid hitting Earth is just one in 909,000 and the risk of impact is likely to decrease as they collect more information.

Very much a flip of the coin odds.

So that you can die starving/asphyxiated/frozen/cooked by multiple radiations?

Shuttles and space stations need constant restockings, you know. I'll just get drunk and hope it happens while I'm asleep.

yeah

cost of internet subscription: $30.00/month
getting up-to-date news: free
chances of actually dying from asteroid: 1/909,000

using "We'll all be dead in 10 years anyway, wanna head back to my place?" as a pickup line: priceless

The other day, in study hall, i farted really loud, you know...so the guys would laugh...and i swear it was so hanus that Susie Johnson almost ralphed up her salsbury steak.
it was freakin sweet...

i read a very similar article in 2000. it said a meteroid was gonna hit in 17yrs time. that woulda been 2017. would the guy in armagedoon be alive then? besides, nasa gonna have to build 2 shuttles or one humoungous one in space - sharpish - for the fairy tales to come true that is.

i was readin that article.

It is around one tenth fo the size of the meteor that is thought to have wiped out dinosaurs on Earth 65 million years ago.

they can't spell of

Experts say the giant rock, which was first spotted by Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research Program (Linear) in New Mexico, could impact on Earth on March 21, 2014.

i have trouble believing that human science can predict the very date that a chunk of rock gazillion miles away is gonna hit earth - plus the added probability of one in 909000 chance that it will hit earth.

Its orbit calculations are currently based on just 51 observations during a seven-day period.

51 observations. one week. you can predict the fate of earth in a decade's time in just one week and 51 glances at the doomsday weapon? its glances just glances. just glances. not careful examination. you can't do that a gazillion miles away from the subject.

He added that there is no cause for concern over the asteroid.

so everyone. considering the accuracy of this article.. the above quote should also be ignored and all should panic.

Nothing feels better than taking out a bounty hunter with a sunslayer facial (with exceptions)

Nothing feels worse than losing your pride and joy that you spent 1.5 mths building.

Meteors were probably flying at Earth all the time, its just now we notice it.

Its already been said,
Asteroids hit Earth all the time.

Note to self: In 10 yrs time have a party with lots of sexy women, then kiss ass goodbye cause if the meteor misses, the other half won't!!!!!!!
