Anyone else still watch cartoons?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

i don't like Ren & Stimpy either, but everyone seems to rave about it. I have no idea why, it just isn't funny. Generally when everyone raves about the latest "hilarious" show or film, I find them mildly amusing at best. I sat through 4 Weddings without smiling once, I actually walked out of Notting Hill. I find the Office entertaining at best; I much prefer Phoenix Nights. Must be a north/south thing.

South Park, Beavis and Butthead, the Simpsons, and King Hill. Plus old Russian cartoons - I recommend my son to watch them too, since they're, hot to say, positive (no shooting, explosions, beating and other stuff). Pity you haven't seen them.

oh come on.... the office? thats liquid humour

@ Archie, honestly it just about raises a smile, i don't know why, i think it may be because the characters are too close to reality and i see too many similiarities to the people i work with, like a useless lazy manager who never works but likes to throw his weight around, and an ugly pathetic dork who's in unrequited love with one of the girls. they're so real that it pains me, doesn't humour me. sorry!

@ zlo, you mean like the ones we used to get during the 60s and early 70s, "Robotnik & Capitalist Oppressor" "Tank Factory Adventures" "Troika the little Tractor from Kharkov" "Party Member Pat"

just teasing. I always enjoyed the style and content of those eastern bloc cartoons, as i mentioned above the Mole was one of my favourites as a kid, I'm sure now it was Czech, I also like the "General" and I think that was Russian, or maybe Bulgarian, i dunno it's a long time ago now, 30 years.

Ren & Stimpy was funny right up until John Krikfalusi sold the rights to Nickelodeon - then it sucked. However, the newer version he's come out with ("Ren & Stimpy's Adult Party Cartoon" seems to hold some potential.

What really sucks is that fact that "R & S's Adult Party Cartoon" is mostly recycled toons from thr original run. I used to watch it on Nick. I recognize most of the shows.

I've only managed to see one episode of the new stuff, and yeah, half of it was recycled. I was hoping that wouldn't be the trend there...

Trend? It's their pretty much their paradigm.

my 9yr old just switched off Spiderman cartoons and told me he would prefer to see "My Neighbour Totoro"

I'm so pleased! he's giving up cheap hollywood tat in favour of quality animé by Miyazaki. if I wasn't riddled with flu I'd hug the little worm!

now now TG, I've avidly read plenty of Marvel myself in my time. I just don't have a high opinion of the TV cartoons. Comics and films generally good, sometimes brilliant, animated series: sorry never was impressed even when I was a kid and watching Spiderman first time round. Good theme tune though.

I'm 28 and I still love Road Runner & Marvin the Martian. I don't think you ever grow out of that sort of stuff do you? Ahh maybe its just me
