Wow! FF, That starfield is awsome. it just needs a few more stars, but the colours look perfect.

it was my first starfield, unless you mean my nebula picture.

There was talk about a tutorial.

Yeah, I was talking about the nebula

just made some coloured clouds and rubbed bits out, at one point it looked like it was from freelancer :/

No. No plugins. Just PS7.

Which planet were you thinking about?
The one with the continents? That was basically "clouds" and then "select colour range". Then colouring them in. Well deleting a part, so the ocean layer comes through.
Lots of layers with that one, though.
With that one, the funny part was to get a darker side to it. Had some trouble with it. And still am not happy the way it looks.

The rings on the yellow one were lots of trial and error. But once you know how to do that, its rather easy. Basically I used two layers for the planet and one for the rings, then cutting out a part of the planet. Then pasting that stuff together. Flatten Image, I think it was.
