Two Towers Extended Version

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I heard rumors that the third part is already complete, but they'll wait til X-mas or sth before they show it on screen

Well, it depends on how you define complete zlo. I mean, the 3 LOTR movies were shot all at once and so in that way The Return of the King has been done for quite a while. But they are still ´fine tuning´ROTK. They have recently finished TTT: Extended Version and are now working on getting ROTK ready for its December release (editing, FX etc.). Actually, they recently spend another million dollars or so for a lot of extra power ( 1174 IBM blade servers, each with dual 2.8 gigahertz Xeon Intel processors and 6 gigabytes of memory ) to work on the special effects in ROTK. Most FX was already done on ROTK, but PJ wants the best, so he ordered some more computers to re-do most FX and give us the eye candy we deserve

No, wait. Aragorn did that. I wonder how they're going to differentiate between Aragorn's legions of the dead allies and the Mordor hosts.

I wonder how they'll do the oath breakers at all without it smelling like horrible moldy cheese. I mean, I just can't imagine it. I'm gonna' do like EB said, though, and when the ROTK EE comes out just plan a whole day of sitting my ass in front of the screen and watch them all in order I hope they allow some theaters to do that sort of thing, too. I've already heard of some theaters showing FOTR and TTT back to back. That would be awesome to go to with some friends Sans cloak, of course. Wait, that doesn't work here.

They did that at several places in Holland when TTT came out. Good idea IMHO.

I'll be getting both versions, like I did last year

Why would you spend your money on the original TTT DVD TG, when you already know you are going to buy the Extended Version ? Seems like a waste of money to me. I´ll just wait untill the EV comes.

BTW, New Line Cinema said (officially) that fans who bought and will buy the Extended Versions, won´t have to worry about some Super Ultimate Platinum Trilogy Set Box are something like that. At the end there will be 3 DVD´s and 3 Extended Versions. They will probably come with a box set of the 3 original versions and the EV, but no extra´s or anything like that to make you buy the whole package again. That´s good news AFAIK

Well the Normal version of Fellowship had some extras that the EV didn't, like "Quest for the Ring" and other behind the scenes features. That's why I'm going to get both versions

I'll probably rent the theatrical cut for the ROTK preview, the other extras, and of course to see the movie again Then I'll buy the EE in November. Mmm. I bet that in ten-fifteen years (maybe on the 75th anniversary of LOTR or something, which would be farther away than ten-fifteen years admittedly) they will release something with more footage. Theres also the inevitable change of format. Blue laser DVD seems like it will begin replacing standard DVD before the middle of the decade is here, which can hold a lot more information, which could possibly mean including the isolated score. Mmm Howard Shore

I have both soundtracks (FOTR and TTT) and I must say it´s pretty soothing to listen to it from time to time. It´s some great piece of music.

Same here Eraser, I too have both Soundtracks.

Next year it's the 50th anniversary of Fellowship of the Ring (released in the UK on 29th July 1954, The Two Towers was released in the UK on 11th November 1954, Return of the King was released in the Uk on 20th October 1955)
