Anyone remember the cartoon movie?!!
I'm sure I've still got it somewhere!!
It had some huge robot planet that ate the autobot planet and so the autobots and decepticons escape to earth, skip forward several thousand years to present day and this robotic planet is coming to eat earth and the autobots need to save the day meanwhile somehow the decepticons are enslaved by the robotic planet?!
Anyone else remember it?

The first episode of the 80s Transformers cartoon, started on Cybertron (The Transformers home planet. The Autobots and the Decepticons were at war, this war had resulted in the near destruction of Cybertron, the Autobots planned to escape Cybertron in a spacecraft but the Decepticons followed and then boarded the Autobots craft, the two crafts then got hit by an Asteriod and then crashed on Earth. 4 Millilon Years Later the Autobots craft came online and started repairing all the Transformers, using schematics of earth vechles. The wars continued on earth.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and he transformers into a Articulated Lorry with a Trailer.

Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons and he transforms into a gun that can be held by anyother transformer, normally Starscream a Decepticon Jet.

IIRC they're robots so they can control themselves when they're vehicles although someone could certainly sit inside and pretend

if you ever bought any of the transformer toys, you;ll notice that most decepticon are capable of interspace fligth, while most autobots can't

their moving speed may goes up to like mach 20, or more..

funny that they actually crash landed long time ago, yet still much more advanced than the humans they were helping.

hopefully, they don't screw this one up like mortal kombat series..

In Vechile Mode Transformers can carry Humans, but they drive themelves. Most of the older Transformers Toys could carry minature People, but you didn't get any with the toys

I have a feeling that if this is done properly it could be fantastic, but IF they decide to disgrace the legacy of Transformers by including some little kids who somehow manage to save the day, then it would be a dark day for us all.

There was a transformers video called 'Headmasters' in which the Transformers reengineer themselves so the humans can be inside them and control bits. When they are in vehcle mode the humans drive, when in humanoid mode the humans are in a cockpit style thing in their heads and they help out with shooting etc. The heads could come off and turned into mini-transformer suits for the humans. If i remember right there were some really dodgy innuendoes between the human boy and the 30ft female transformer who he controlled.

Also there was that one about the goldenage, the transformers were getting their asses kicked and Optimus Prime kept going on about the prophecy (or something similar) then he went into the 'Matrix' and had a wee chat with the guy who made all the transformers. I'm sure optimus prime got killed in that one and passed the leadership onto another guy who became Rodimus Prime

Nah, that's what he's after: confrontation. He's harmless, just plain annoying anyway. Ignore him. He gets kicks out of flame wars.

The first Transformer's movie was good. But then again they havn't made a good Transformer series after Beast Wars. So...it could go either way.

I have Transformers : The Movie on DVD! Can't beat a good classic!! Memories. "You've got the strength, you've got the power....."

However I have watched the new cartoon series on the TV here in the UK. Awful! Although it is supposed to be the same the characters are different, there is still Optimus Prime etc but they look different.

A live action film will be difficult. Maybe they could look at doing a cartoon version which is of the same quality as the last Animatrix about the Osiris.
