June 1rst, 2003 may very well mark our Doomsday

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

search on E.L.E (from deep impact.. extinction level event )
i know a tenth planet is believed by scientists.. i had (have) this junior science series thing.. and they talking about a tenth planet..they named it 'tempry' direct pronounciation from korean.. 5 times the mass of earth ? ? but they also got its orbital.. nearly vertical compared to the other planets.. and its humoungous.. i bet fletcher comet comes along more often than this one.. and its orbital passes closer to jupiter than earth. it'll prolly fry jupiter's aliens first. and then it was talking something about two other bodies in orbit around the sun some 50 times and 60 times the mass of pluto. maybe i translated the whole thing wrong.. but its like that.

Science is knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Time is money.
power = work/time
therefore, knowledge= work/money
therefore, money = work/knowledge
therefore, money is inversely proportional to knowledge.

therefore,

The more knowledge you have, the less money you have.

Prepare for the worst, for you have read the worst.

hold on.. just been to the website.. but hey.. hows the earth stopping for 72 hrs gonna kill anyone? even the nighttime ain't gonna go cold enough under 72 hrs to kill practically anything. besides, we could to armageddon and blast the planet or whatever it is to bits before it reaches 'event horizon'..

EDIT: lets just meet on another plane then.. btw, how are we gonna die? suddenly break into pieces? fall down like in the core? or get cancer and die? radiation? interesting how one can die cuz a speeding planet it going past our house..

I read this exact same story at a Dutch site some time ago.
Only thing different was the date.
Somewhere begin may 2003 it was.
Well its now almost June so that wasn't true.
So I guess this won't be either.
Just some stupid bored people crying for attention.

lol. I can tell you, I'm not packing my bags and heading for the hills. I think that this is wrong. I wouldn't quite call it BS because there is some evidence to back it, but that same evidence can also prove it wrong. I just posted this because I thought it was an interesting topic.

Thats a good point. Why would the Earth stopping spinning for 3 days kill 90% of the population?

Post Sat May 31, 2003 3:42 pm

Because the earth spinning is what causes gravity! Everything would just float away. (Including the atmosphere).

Post Sat May 31, 2003 3:47 pm

lol. The earth spinning is not what causes gravity. (according to the 'believers') the reason 90% of the human population would die is that there would be 1. massive climate changes due to the change in the earth's axis, 2. the magnetic pull of the planet would cause every volcano in the world to go off, thus clogging the atmoshpere with ash, 3. massive earthquakes, 4. probably some tidal waves, ect. Basically, the planet itself isn't what would kill us, it's what it would do to our climate/ weather patterns. However, the chances that this planet will come by in our lifetime is not very good.

@Cpbuja

the sun itself is about 144.000.000 km from earth the distance that you describe is just about from here to halfway venus

and half a lightyear is not 2.000.000 km but it rather is 2.000.000.000.000 km
don't get offended with me for correcting your mistake

Post Sun Jun 01, 2003 3:17 am

I know that... Just missed a few 0s, and since 0 = null/nothing, then I guess it's notning...
Anyway a lightyear is about a 9.467.280.000.000 km, so you wrote a quarterway...
The point was that this 'Planet' will do nothing by passing by. Period.

p.s. Of course I'm not offended by your correction.

If it has the mass of Jupiter it would. But now i know for certain that it won't be happening on Sunday because if it was, we'd be able to see the planet prominently in the night sky by now.

Ok its 2:45 am and everything seems fine in June 1. Listened to the news yesterday nobody said nothing about doomsday. Well June 1 is kind of rainy and that is about it, hope it does not change to 72 hour long day or night

lol leonheart, that reminds me of 1st january 2000 when everyone thought the world was going to explode but nowt happened.

I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots, or only five? Tell you the truth, in all the excitement I kind of lost track myself. Being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful hand gun in the world, it'll take your head clean off. So you gotta ask yourself one question - do I feel lucky? Well......do ya? Punk?

Post Sun Jun 01, 2003 2:39 pm

Well, throw out the June 1st theory...maybe July 1st?

LimeCordial, remember that too, that night I did not even sleep. On january 1 only thing that happened was me sleeping most of the day.

Remember that planet in Bretonia that had it's atmosphere ripped away by an acient catastrophe? That's probably what would happen so half the world frys in the radiation and half the world freezes, the dusk and dawn areas survive a bit longer as everything is flung away.
