SO, this is my first post. I'm pretty much a n00b when it comes to modding, however, I have a couple of specific questions. I have tried searching the forums for the info I saw and then forgot, but I get nothing.

1. I have made the Train ship in my MP server < for me and a buddy to play LAN games on, > and made it available to buy at Manhattan. It shows up on planet, although it is classed as a light fighter. I bought one, left the planet and then...

I appear to be stuck in the planet as the ship is too long for the docking ring, atmosphere zone, etc... but I am actually stuck in the SUN! Wiggled it free, and got out of there! Good thing I upped its hitpoints and bot capacity to 100K and 650, or I wouldn't have survived. With 3 bars of health left.

I also could'nt dock at a space station < the one right off of Manhattan, > it just bumped the station for a while, and you can't skip cutscenes in MP, other than take off. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I have gone back and looked at everything I've changed, and it all seems right. I will post back with the relevant info about it after I play with it some more.

So why would I start in the Sun after undocking? It happened with any ship I tried to leave in.

2. Yes, there's more.
I came across a thread in here that mentioned hidden turret hardpoints on ships, and the example used was the Sabre. It was an example of the computer having access to them, and them being locked to the player, until you edit an ini file. There was a pretty detailed description of how to add one to your game, and I think it was called the Super Sabre??

That is what I am after right now, got lots of stuff to check, and add, bla.

First, congratulation for our Forum , Lancers reactor is very complete site about freealancer and starlancer )

I have a question about modding please ...

i check a mod for give possibilite to player, to changed name in game, by a simple console command....
per Exemple, a player called "Alpha", will changed names to "Beta", she can change with a simple command, without administrator help.

this mod existing ???

And other, i check a mod too, for counted kill/frags, of player versus player

A mod who can calculed the count of player, a player as kill ...

Can you help me ?

CAN SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO CHANGE THE COLORS OF SHIP GUNS!!

i tried altering the beam effect but it dosent seem to make a diffrence the beam im looking to change at the mo is the liberty crusier main gun (u know the huge ringy one) i want to make it a sought of yellow/gold color but i dont know how can some one please help me i really need it for "PROJECT: SAJUUK"

Beanybaby,

First off, please don't use all caps. Second, one of the nice features of TLR is the search forums function. If you would've done a bit of searching, you could've found quite a number of tutorials documenting how to edit effects. Here is my old tutorial on how to make weapons and edit effects.

Now, you can't simply copy the Liberty Cruiser forward gun entry for your weapon. It is not in beam_effects.ini. However, if you follow the directions in the tutorial, when you get to the part when you need to edit weapons_ale.ini to add your effect, your entry should look like this:

[VisEffect
nickname = custom_effect
alchemy = fx\weapons\li_cruiser_maingun.ale
effect_crc = -24850011
textures = fx\sarma.txm

You can add as many textures lines as you want. Experiment with them for different looks. However, keep the alchemy and effect_crc as they are listed there.

i'm thinking about making mods i'm only 13 and i wish to make a ship mod to do with star wars can anyone send me an email on how to do it.and i wish to add my own weapons on them help with that too.

Could someone tell me which way to go with the numbers in empathy.ini to make factions hostile. I want to make all factions except corsairs, outcasts, nomads and xenos hostile at the start. Thanks.

As far as I can remember, -ve is hostile.

Mod the DLLs to change stats?
Methinks you have the wrong end of the stick, to change stats, you need to either download the SDK or use BINI, but either way the stats are held in the INI files in the DATA folder.

hi all
i have been playing freelancer for some munths naw and i wanted to lern haw to mod i have looked at the forum for beginners and i am lost, i have the tools but not the nolege to use them. i have used mods for freelancer and i wonted to pay all you modders back by doing my own "ovusly i need some help on haw to" i have modded games befor well in fact One or two for example x2 the threat and x3. i found it hard at first but as time went on it got esyer. i am a quick lerner and i wanted to try the concept of modding freelancer the mod i wonted to try and make was somthing along the lines of star trek being a treky and all i dun one for x2 were i made the, uss enterprise and voyiger .

i am sorry about the spelling realy tired just finished 14 hour shift at work and i thort cornet beboverd to go to sleep yet . if some one out there could point me in the right direction it would be much abliged thanks oodope206

I search a possibilty for player (in a multiplayer server), to change "IA affiliation" in game for a player can join a register playerteam

Ex : i m a Liberty Rogue, and i will join [Alphaxxx player team

(Alphaxxx) is register in mod ....

with a console command per exemple.

OK, So im trying to change the haul and shield damage to one of the weps in the game (ex. jevilin)( sry if i spelled it wrong) and i was wondering if anyone would like to help me. PLEASE!

How would one go about adding new missions? For instance, I would very much like to be able to do more than mine, kill or make commodity shipments for making money.

I'd love to be able to ferry passengers to different worlds, or make delivery runs for certain factions, ala "Escape Velocity" (in fact, the EV games are where I got interested in space-games in the first place). In my opinion, this game would be perfect if I could play a Malcolm Reynolds-ish character who takes on passengers and does delivery runs.

Is there already a mod that adds this kind of thing? I did a little checking, but I couldn't come up with anything. And if there isn't already a mod for this, how would I go about adding these kinds of missions?
