I got 3.5 Delta from Zod's and it looks great (when I get online with it I'm sure it will play great too)but there is a problem with the single player game.

At the start of a new game ,when your in that furball with the Order ships,nobody is attacking me.After 20 minutes playing the only damage I'd taken was when I colided with another ship.
Three of the Order ships died right at the start (they colided with the planet),the other two seem to have infinite shield batteries.Despite being out numbered by at least 3-1 the only damage they took was to thier shields
The furball could have gone on for hours but King (the idiot) got himself killed.

I even tried Open S.P.(it works if you copy the files straight into thier game folders),but to survive any length of time you have to cheat.

As a multi player mod this will be amazing

As a single player your ship is so completely out classed and out gunned that it will be so frustatingly difficult to get any where

I also have a copy of Delta2 and have hit one snag so far playing it: Argyle Staion in the Edinburgh system (the one in the ice cloud in the SW part of the sector); I am docked there now but the game crashes to desktop when I launch. I usually make multiple backups of my game but noooooo not this time . Is there a fix for this or am I doomed to start over?

Eek, sorry about that one. If you can, try purchasing a different ship (I dun remember if that station sells ships), or if that fails, try reverting to an earlier save, and don't go to that station... Failing that... Here' s the bad news, time to start over.

BTW, what ship are you flying?

Something to remember while this is still not the final release, save often

Hey People,

ArchKaine here. I've been doing a lot of thinking based on the reports that I'm getting about server crashes and other bugs.

The reports are not good. Due to this, I've decided to make the request that all servers cease hosting Rebalance 3.5.x in any version until Ro9ue and I have had time to find and work out all the known bugs. This may require a TOTAL rewrite of the Mod. So, because of this, I'm going to say that Rebalance, for now, is going to have to be placed on extended hold.

I hate to say this, but don't wait for the new one, it may be a while in coming. I apologize to all who have waited and waited for the new release to come out, but because of these bugs we have to go in and really hunt down a lot of things.

Also due to the lack of experienced coders working on this Mod, there's just simply too much for us to try to do.

If I may suggest, try out Evolutions. It's a great Mod, and it's also pretty stable.

Rebalance WILL return, I just don't know when.

My deepest apologies to everyone for this one, especially the coders and testers who have put so much time into this Mod.

I was flying the starter ship(which is a mighty fine little light fighter,by the way) and had flown into Edinburgh from Illinois,after doing the second mission. And yes,I did start over from scratch.It's ok-I have better equipment now anyway.
I'm sorry to hear that you are holding off on the mod,but glad to hear that you will be crushing the bugs-take your time and don't let anything rush you. This mod is quite good and will be even better with a little polishing. Since I am slogging thru the SP game again,can I send you a list of the glitches that I encounter?

I agree that the mod needs work, I put lots of time on zod's and black's!!!

It's too bad that Delta 2 was let out unlocked,,, the servers out there started to proiferate, 2 or 3 new ones last night. They were wide open to anyone, will prpbably lead to some "static"!!!

I can play the mod with vey few problems, but I know what to avoid. Of course it helps to be on TS and compare notes with zod, saleth, wb, bobba_fett,the shrike,ven0em & a few others. especially to keep track of who's testing what.

I've done a lot of testing on my lan server, enables me to jump around the map to check specific areas.

This is a fantastic mod, and complex as hell. and eventhough you're pulling back for now, which I agree with, I'll probably continue to play it on my lan. I'm afraid that I'm just a beginner when it comes to modding, but I'm still willing to be a tester.

Oh, and btw, could you make it NOT exclusive? I like to change the ship colors for the borderworlds ships and the civilian ships and have it read 'smoking cardamine' when it lags. and other things.

i would download it form the two sites, except my internet browser wont let me change from page to page on them. on the skins i personly like the black ones and able to at lest put one cap cannon on the turrets of the fighters/freighters. i hope the mod works soon, anstions to try it out. keep up the good work also

I posted that I was having problems with npc's that had infinite shield batts,I've since started modding for myself to see if I can fix this problem(I'm using Chips tutorials in the editting forums as a guide).
I'm running a small(at the moment)mod that has npc shield regen as well as them using batts & bots to repair themselves.When you scan thier holds you see that they carry batts & bots.
When I scan the holds of npcs in Delta2 they don't have any,yet they still repair themselves.
I know that this is a problem you guys have inheritted.
Now that I know what I'm looking at I can see that there appears to be a few redundant ini files.Who needs 4 p tough ini files,all it does is set the level requirements,3 of them are a waste space.Maybe a little thinning out is required.

Chips exellent work on the tutorials btw,ideal for experts & noobs alike

Thanks for the info. I've been a bit curious about all those extra numbered ini's myself. Can anyone explain to me thier significance, and if they're in fact required? If they're not, I may indeed go in and do some extensive "thinning"

I've made some interesting discoveries for Rebalance. But I'll save those goodies for later. Ro9ue and I have some ideas that we're also working on together for a new mod that we're thinking about. No release date set, this one's gonna be slow and steady, and done right

Keep us informed of anything you guys run into, and I'll do what I can to keep up my end

Uh, I'm not sure if my problems been mentioned. To check I'd have to do a crapload of reading and I'm lazy so screw it.

But I've noticed in many systems, Alaska is the first that comes to mind, if your ship is 'too big' you can't take off from some stations whose launch bay doors open inward. You become trapped inside when launching and either have to quit and load by yourself or destroy the station, wait for some pissed off faction to kill you, and then load again, thus starting over.

So yeah, thats my bug/problem/glitch, whatever you want to call it.

ive noticed that with the last version to. i think its the very center station in the alaskan ship yard. id just blow the ship yard up lol and use the ioncross thing to edit the faction or just exit out and move my ship agian. but thats just me, hey anyone know when an release date is going to be yet? jw no rush.

Heya Warrior,

Please don't start begging again for a new release, it's not going to happen anytime soon. We're working on it slowly, and I mean that. Ro9ue and I don't want yet another "Rebalance Fiasco". So we'll release it after it's been debugged, tested, certified as ready, and with no pre-announcements. I'm really sorry for this man, but I'm afraid that this time it's just plain necessary

Rest assured that Rebalance WILL return, but not soon. So play with the one that's out there, and if you want to, edit whatever you want to make it fun for you. If you discover anything interesting, let us know. If you see something that needs pointed out, let us know.

Sorry to shoot down any hopes of a new release anytime soon man, but I think you'll agree that slow and steady for now is the way to go
