But I'd suggest this, set a specific time each day (or on specific days a week), when the server will allow new accounts. Preferably low volume traffic time/day, could stagger them too, like monday 3->5pm, wednesday 1am ->2am, or something like that. Or just leave it open one day a week, like all day wednesday, but make aware the crash potential.

[addition1 Of course you could just leave the server passworded, and account creation locked, so people have to email you if they want a new account. That way you can ask if they have any mods installed, etc... Then set up a time to allow account creation.

The same mentality that would hack a hospital database and alter someones medical records is what is at work here, they may not be doing it for any other reason than that they can. My money is on modders, they may simply be trying to log on with a cheat and are getting barfed out by the server.
Limit new accounts creation to say the weekend, I realize that you must have responsibilities other than administering a game server, any increase in your level of control also increases your workload so if there is a utility that would allow you to do this automatically, more the better.
Were you getting any kind of ID and time stamp coincedent with the crashes?

P.S. You run a great server, I hope you can work these kinks out, it'll be a sad day if Browclops server goes offline.

To all Browclops funs:

I propose to class all players in Browclops into 3 Fractions, let say A,B and C;
A and B are hostile each other. C is natural for individual players or newbies. A and B both have their own home system and whenever they meet, no need blaa blaa.. before attack start. fraction total war and group fighting, organized attacking/hunting are much more fun than FFA or current events.

what do you say?

Player faction war would be fun, at least I think so. I always wanted to do something like that, but unfortunately I am very lazy and haven't given any effort.

After the LSM tonight I thought about ( I dunno how you'd say this but) sarting my own " organization..." " force" " army" whatever you want to call it, in that jurisdiction. I thought about it, and I just wanted to keep "duh flavuh" to the server fresh with players always having something to do besides missions and frequent duels. I have a lot ideas, most which are scattered in my mind at the moment, not organized enough yet, but keep yer eyes peeled for some new things in general from the Browclops server.( from me at least.)

Have to say BOOM! to old friends Hawk, Defaultuser, DaVoid and Raptor, glad you could crawl back to sobriety for a few minutes and blow some sh*t up. The winner, Meiyo_Chie, is listed at the top. The last person listed was the first to eat vacuum (is that even possible?) Notice I am very close to the bottom

You sure that's right? I was pretty happy with the understanding that I was 6th. And yeah, I kinda have been saying to everyone that's what I got... and how the top 6 should get a prize... and it shows that you got skill when you're in the top 6, and...yeah.

Hey, and I don't think you brought the nomads back.

But yeah, the free for all was awesome. Not often you get 25 people in the same system killing each other.

Yes yes, I know it's rather early but I have already made plans for another event next Saturday (12th) and no unfortunately not another freeforall, but worry not that was not the last. Instead I am eager to see how well the browclops server does in the category of...teamwork. So pick a partner and calibrate that uzi for the Last Team Standing event is not far off, no further info at this time. ( Time and place not yet set,but to be announced.) >;0
