perhaps search for tradwars game server TWGS is the acronym if I remember correctly.

LOL! So glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Trade Wars when I saw Freelancer. OMG I loved Trade Wars! I can remember being about 12 years old, dialing the BBS number and connecting at a blazing 300 Baud and pissing everyone off because I typed in all caps on my Color Computer II. In fact, I decided to go by skavengur because that's what I went by in Trade Wars.

I would love to see a Trade Wars mod for Freelancer. At least to have bases and own planets, maybe manufacture materials on your planets to sell.

Has anyone figured out how to create weapons platforms yet?

Actually,I remember hearing two years ago that somecompany had the rights to produce a "3d"-MMOG tradewars that would be essentially an updateof the original...
I have no idea if they'restill in business.
