Wow - that thing is flipping huge!! That is a monster. Aint checked this thread out in quite a while obviously!

Sorry - don't know much about modeling ships etc etc, is there no way that you could use multiple SUR files of different names or something, orientated at different parts of the model or sommat?

by the way, can't you make your own model of jumpgates? That way you don't have probs with getting stuck or anything like that either!

Unfortunately no. While stock FL ships all have multiple .sur files assigned to them (one collision frame for the entire mesh and "subsets" of that frame for each destructable component), at present there is no way to "extend" an existing hit detection box around a custom ship by sticking additional .sur's to specific parts of its mesh (and since the CMP exporter itself only supports one component, the issue is compounded further).

As for the jumpgate dilemma... let's just say your phantom_physics method proved MOST helpful once the initial mountpoint crisis was over.

For Phantom_physics - thank a man called triggerfinger - it was he who found out about it! I met him on Calgary - a top bloke - and a very good modder too. Kinda taught me stuff to get me going which was cool. Mostly unusal stuff like that, making gun mounts from light mounts, making lights unmountable, and many many other things (speed, ubers etc etc) all a long long time ago!
(well - in FL terms that is....lol) - so it aint me to thank for that!


In fact - its down to Triggerfinger that i found out how to make equipement - which led me to making new equipement, guns, commodities - as it is all similar!

Like i said before - i was taught to mod by several people - him included

One thing though.... as far as I recall, the Vesuvius was destroyed in WC4... the supercarrier from Phrophecy was the Midway.

It depends which ending you went for. You could of just disabled it. In prophecy a Vesuvius class super carrier cameo'ed in one of the missions.
