MP in SP format!!!!

Will someone please tell me how to do it!?! I can't connect to any server because of my laggy 56k connection!!! bummer...

If I can, I am willing to help someone mod this kind of thing to make it possible.

Look at Freelancer Downloads, there is a mod (Freelancer NoStory MOD) that allow you to play SP game without mission and an other one (OpenGate mod) that allow you to use all Jump Gate from the beginning, just join both !

There's a glitch in the current NoStory mod that trips the mission requirement at lvl 17... it wants you to meet Orillion on the deck of the ship or something like that... anyway because of this it won't allow you to progress higher than lvl 17. Has anyone found a way around this, or a fix? I looked thru the script for mission 9, but didn't come up with much.

I was able to merge the OpenGate mod with the current NoStory mod, however... you have to put the unlock scripts somewhere in the first mission trigger for it to activate, however, not where it is in the original OpenGate, which opens them later in the first mission.

Still working out why it will not go past Level 17. I got it to give me "Meet Orillean on th deck of Battleship Osiris" MOD that file to give me Mission Complete; but it still will not let me finish. It still says mission required to advance. At least I got past that 'Mission to meet Oriellion on BattleShip' Osiris and make that mission success.

I AM making progress, the last level missions are connected to each other at the end game through mission 13 last. Some mission success triggers needs extremely careful look at the script, it is not obvious at all. I believe I will get the bugs out of that NoSotory MOD; but it is painful slow. Getting there. Then combine them together with more stuff small buglets 'improved' in my OpenGate MOD and just call it OpenGame MOD? or just Sandbox MOD? I need a simpler name than OpenGateNoStory MOD....

Ah good, glad to hear you're making progress. Looking forward to it... I've been playing solo MP lately, but the performance just seems to suffer... weird "lag" spurts and such.

How about calling it OpenSP Mod?

I fixed the NoStory MOD!
Stuck at level 17 it was NOT easy, the last missions are tied together complicated. I found a new unique way to make the game skip ALL missions so that you will hopefully level up as normal as in table ptough.ini like MP and not skip levels. Nor will you get free rewards.

It took me a week to figure this out. I combine both together my OpenGate and Da8lus' NoStory MOD into one called OpenSP MOD with all bug fixes!. See later posts and other threads. Actually, NoStory MOD I threw out the door and found a better way to skip missions.

The solution was simple as heck now I look at it. Much cleaner, I will make more versions and include the mission scripted systems and bases back in, but for now, this is MUCH so MUCH better now as it is!

I want to make a auto install batch file to place this MOD into game and back up files. I want to test that and I will be done for this version for now. Also need to test the level up with money feature to try to make it work as in MP. I do not like stsrting out at 18 where the game normally would put you. The auto Nav map is NOT explored (another bonus).

Later versions will have more content, features, missions, and a Random Universe Creator (works in SP and MP). All my MODs are supported and fully interchangable so that you can add whatever ones you want to your own living and breathing private Universe. Eventually an Elite-Privateer type game.

AutoInstall will make this OpenSP MOD user n00b friendly --> more people will use it. Let me get the final touches put on it. MS rushed FL out the door; but I do not do that with my MODs.

one request to the mods.. umm.. can you make this sticky, Xerx's mod looks promising and should be seen by fl players who suffer from not being able to play MP games because of laggy connections. PLEAZE!

Hey good going Xerx, looking forward to playing your newer versions of the nostorymod. Here is an idea been thinking of, is there any way you can add or reactivate all those battleships, cruisers, gunboats that were seened during the storyline? I think it would add a extra challenge to SP and maybe to MP.

Oh yes, this is something I can't wait to play with! My connection isn't always the best for MP, and besides... all MP has been for me (granted I only played a couple hours) is a bunch of cheaters and hacks (flying around in huge battleships etc.) and some other folks at level 38 who think it's funny to blow up level 1 players that just clear the docking rings in Liberty. Of course, there are also great people playing MP, and I'm not saying everyone there is a **** or anything... just that my experience was made brief because of a few bad apples. Hope I didn't offend anyone with that!

Maybe I just long for the old Privateer (and NOT bloody Privateer 2, what a waste that one was for me). I heard that X-Beyond the Frontier (I think) was a lot like Privateer and Elite, although I haven't seen it for sale anywhere yet... anyone have a comment on it? Oh yeah, and thanks Xerx for working to improve this game for us! Too bad you didn't work with DA and M$ on this project in the first place!

Xerx, why the talk about a batch file to install it? I've mentioned to you before that there's a program call "Freelancer Mod Manager" out, and automates mod installation/activation

Give me an e-mail if you need help; load that program and go to Tools\How Do I... to get directions on how to make your mod work with FLMM.
