I have to agree with Bejamac, you need to set these up in Bodyparts.ini, or use different ones in the Faction_props.ini file.

ERROR: Cannot find bodypart voc_male_elite_body
ERROR: Cannot find bodypart voc_male_elite_body
--------------
I got this error when I tried scripting Initialworld.ini, I had to rewrite the file:

ERROR: FACTION: save game has corrupted reputation data for group fc_borg_grp, please re-create the savegame

Are you scripting your faction(s) data into Initialworld.ini?
Also, if you're using OpenSP, make sure the same data as in Initialworld.ini is in M13.ini, but watch the format, they're different.
--------------
Oh, and you'll need to start a new game after you fix that.
--------------
You've also got a problem in your Goods.ini, or other _good.ini file:
(well, actually, you've got 3 bad entries.)

WARNING: Good (0x8132a6c4 nickname different from equipment
WARNING: Good (0xa132dac4 nickname different from equipment
WARNING: Good (0x85b5158b nickname different from equipment

A bad Example Would be:
nickname = commodity_vips
equipment = commodity_vip

Both names must be identical.
--------------
Not sure what's causing this one:
WARNING: Voice message 2213849798 is invalid for voice 3073825485
This may be caused by the voc_male_elite_body error.
--------------
Good luck!

Cady,
I realize that Bejamac was a bit harsh, but I am curious to know if anything has helped.
There is another individual who's getting the same:
WARNING: Voice message 2213849798 is invalid for voice 3073825485
As you, and I'm wondering if you've managed to fix it.

WARNING: Voice message 2351700488 is invalid for voice 3073825485 was there atleast 100+ times

Was there atleast 40+ times

I read thru that thread you gave the link to...and most of that is WAY beyond my understanding...but i did know what Argh was talking about when he said he commented out the voices...i did that...and still got the errors

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 7:00 am

well...it worked once...i saw some freighters just before they jumped out...but soon afterwards it crashed

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 12:52 pm

maybe someone could catch me on MSN and i can send you stuff that you need...then they can look it over

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 1:05 pm

the NNvoice error is the real killer i think - i found once i got rid of it my unexplained crashes cleared up completely(so far - two days beta testing)

all i can tell you is that its not caused by the pilot pop or mbases.ini, but something else in the missions folder.

ps. next time you post spew you can just say "x repeats a lot" instead of posting all of it - long posts like that can give TLR the hiccups

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 1:29 pm

only things that are edited in the missions folder is:

empathy.ini
faction_prop.ini
mbases.ini
npcships.ini

but i need all those for my factions...cause i made custom NPC entries for the custom factions...

Maybe you could catch me on MSN or X-Fire and tell me which files you deleted out of the missions folder

How is it that all of that can't find body part stuff is still there? You DID fix it, right?

MK

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 2:05 pm

i still havent fixed anything...i could post another spew if you wanna see whats still wrong

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:10 pm

well that's just it, i deleted everything but mbases and population - using elimination i can only surmise that it is definitely npcships.ini that is causing the error.

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:45 pm

Well, looking through the posts.. You do need to change the ids_name location to be in names_resources instead of the custom one.
The short name can be in a custom dll, but the ids_name must be in names_resources.
Another good little check is to back everything up and to use entries from a different faction in place of the ones you want. That way you know if the problem is with the faction or the ship+loadout. At least then you can narrow down the possible causes.
After that you could try using openSp to spawn using the different encounters. Even if you don't want OpenSp as a part of the mod you can still use it by modifying the m13 file.
When you say you can't get the encounters working, are you sure that the faction has been added completely? Its the kind of thing where one little mistake will cause the whole damn thing to crash.

Post Tue Mar 28, 2006 4:49 pm

@Cold_Void

Thats not necessairly true, because the whole reason i had to enter the new NPC entries, is because the game was crashing when i tried to enter the encounters, i will upload the files that i used to create the faction to filefront in the next few minutes, then ill edit this post accordingly

Edit: filefront wasnt working for me so i uploaded it to rapidshare

Edit Again: If you downloaded it last night then you were missing my loadouts.ini file, which i sumbited just a few minutes ago with the rest of the files. http://rapidshare.de/files/16712022/Upd ... s.rar.html

uh *points at himself* me? - i don't know how to fix it, thats why i just deleted npcships (since my new NPCs are added by XML)

Post Fri Mar 31, 2006 10:32 am

The omly way u are going to find the solution is to limit the causes one by one until you end up with whatevers left.
Try copying the faction_prop entries for a different faction for the custom faction just to see if the faction works ok.
Once the faction works, it won't take too long to figure out wether its a loadout problem or not.
Did you add the custom faction by XML? If so u are going to get problems with ids_name strings for random missions.
