If the CPU can process i386 32 bit instructions, even trough emulation, then yes, you can play. Also, there will most likely be complete emulators for win32, even when the world finally switches to 64but architecture, just like there are now other platform emulators (ZX Spectrum, Amiga, M.A.M.E., SEGA, (S)NES, ...) so I see no reason to worry about such things...

absolutely no problem. the only issue would be with the x64 o/s and that would likely only bge drivers, and even then as driver suites get updated these problems are rapidly being resolved.

Sorry for gravedigging, but I can't seem to find any posts that have indicated how well Freelancer/FLserver would run under XP x64. I ask because I have a copy of it that I just bought (I was buying XP 32-bit, but a legitimate XP 64-bit was also included), and I thought, well... what about XP x64?

Any comments?

Works perfectly, been running a server for months on an AMD 5200+ using Vista 64 bit.

FL will run on 64bit systems but it will run in a 32bit emulation which could mean that is runs slower than in an original 32bit environment
(due to the fact that i believe there are no real up to date 32bit systems build i would say give 64bit a go)

Note: FL will run for sure with 64bit... other tools like FLshell might give problems with some AMD Opterons (there it will completely refuse to work)

I'd be running it on a Pentium D 945 with an i865 chipset.
