Request for advice on a graphic-card-issue
My problem/questions concern a Radeon 9600/256:
Playing LAN-game when after a sync mismatch my graphic card produced a CTD and an error window. Of course I did not read it (thought it's a sync prob...). As I tried to restart the computer I could see for short time (3 sec) that the screen-settings were reduced to 800x600 (or even lower) then blue screen because of problems with driver. From that moment on I could not even boot my comp.
So I changed the graphic card back to my old Radeon 7500 (the one I started FL with ) and the computer/games run perfect NOW. First I had to reinstall the system driver and DirectX 9.0.c, because games did not start but produced some strange Dx-error-box.
My questions:
- GPU- or on(graphic)board chip set- failure ?
- Worth to be repaired ? Or do the spare parts and the repair for an older GC cost more than a new one ?
- As long as the 9600 was in the PC I could even not boot that machine. So is it true that a hardware check by LAN from another computer is impossible ? If not: how do I do it ? What tool do I need for ?
thanx to you CompWiz for answers
