BTW this is gona be a game/homework PC sooooooo that is y i'm undecided on the P4 or A64

FYI: planning on a A64 3800 (socket 939)

Get the Athlon64. And yes, DDR is not the same as a normal PC133 or PC100 SDRAM module.

Athlon 64 all the way baby! Well, if you see my thread, I just purchased my new pc for just a hair under $640...so I'd say you'd be right about in line. I think the 3800 though is $100 more than what I got.

Awww, what do you people have against Intel, uh?

Seriously though, for your image get an Athlon. I was publicly shunned for getting an Pentium chip.

Also, if you are going to get a new motherboard, try to get one that has as many components integrated as possible. It just saves time and sometimes money. (Assuming you're putting it together yourself).

Aim for a DDR2 RAM socket, as DDR3 is excessive.

Unless you buy an FX chip then the 3D Card can be the most expensive thing you get. Don't be afraid , just make sure that you get PCI-e chip and motherboard

hmmmm i was hoping to get a AGP 8x MB cuz i don;t have $$ for a PCIe card (a cheap one not them crasy $800+ stuff)

so that is y i got enough $$ for the 3800

BTW u ppl no that this is CAD??? not USD??
