Finally upgrading my pc...

Okay, I finally broke down and dispensed with the money. Before I tell you what I got, let me tell you what I currently have.

800MHZ Duron
384mb SDRAM PC133
Hercules 3d Prophet (64mb Geforce 2 mx)

I upgraded to this:
AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Geforce Fx5900
512mb DDR (PC3200)
16x Sony DVD/RW

Think I'll notice a difference?

I'd double that RAM, at the least... but yes, I would imagine that'll be a major step up

Yeah, the Athlon64 will perform like greased lightning compared to the Duron-800.

Play Freelancer on it! Tell us how smooth it is compared to the ole 800

I used to have an old PC that ran dual AMD chips. My parents used it to run 80s songs mostly, we called it Duron Duron... Okay, so that's not true, but its so stupid sometimes its funny.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet, but I would double the RAM at least. And don't play Freelancer on it first, FL runs smooth on lots of stuff, play something like HL2 or Doom 3 on it.

Heh, thanks for the comments guys. I would have gone for the 6800 GT as well, but finances were NOT permitting.
