great game ...

i finished the 2nd mission and got "Ashcroft" guy. Juni said she'll be back. I have been playing for a while now and nothing's happening. I am level 4 and have about 25k. The profile says that "next level" is on 24k. WTF??!! I went to the Manhattan bar like the FAQ said to retrieve msg from Juni. There's nothing there for me.

1. When can I progress in the game.
2. Why am I not moving up on my pilot level if I have more money then is required.

I must tell you that I installed 2 patches. The official one and the so called "2.4 unofficial patch" I installed them when I already started the game so I don't know if that is a problem. The patch REDME didn't warn me about anything. Please help me.

Stop! The 24k means thats how much MORE you need to progress. You have 25k? then by the time you make it to the next level, you will have about 50k. 24k + 25k is like 49k. Sorry, but you have a long way to go to get to the next level. Hope this helps.

You are not that far along in the game. I would advise-re installation of patches-that you restart the game.

Don't use the patches,the official one is for updating the server,the other I've never heard of (last one was 1.4).Uninstall freelancer then do a fresh install,don't delete your save games as you can still use them.Download and install the SDK 1.5,I think there's a link to it somewhere on this site.Delete the autosave & use the last ingame save point to start with.

The SDK is a set of decompressed Freelancer ini files that have had most of DA's typo's,mistakes & bad coding fixed.

The_Corsair is right I suggest u keep doing missions or cargo runs till u exeed 50k, trust me u want xtra credits before next ingame mission (not to give any spoilers), and u might want to make sure u have a defender or better by then.

Erm guys, while you are still busy with the storyline, the next level requirement is the amount of money you have to have, so if the next level req is $25 000 you need $25 000 to go to the next level
isnt it?

and then when you're finished with the storyline, the req is how much more you need.

Thats as far as I know in anyway

I am also having the same problem with not knowing what to do. I also have been playing for quite some time now after the mission and there has been no hints as to what to do next and I and not leveling up, my current worth is $76,546 and I need $23,3400.
Please help us, I am getting board of doing side missions.

When I'm properly awake, I'll start with the storyline and check which way the leveling up works, then when we're sure of that we can take it further.

OK, I checked it up, while still playing the storyline, the required amount is the amount you have to have, so theres defenitely a problem with your games. I just dont know what.

Maybe something in here will help?

The problems a corrupt autosave,delete the autosave & use the last ingame savepoint to try again.

I'm starting to think that theres alot of bad copies of the game out there,I've had the game since it was released in the UK & I've completed it 6 times and I still haven't had this problem.Juni's usually calling me before I can get any exploring done.

Might be ppl playing with a warez version that's corrupted, too. I hope not, because there's just no excuse- it's almost more to pay for the shipping costs than it is to buy FL now...
