Pirate Liberty, Open Roleplay
There were no ships for hundreds of klicks, at the very least. This was good; very good indeed. A Liberty patrol would be more than enough to cause the entire plan to fail, as this was the most vunerable part of the mission. A flight through open space, between two debris fields. The gap was hundreds, possibly thousands of kilometers wide. This meant that the sensory cover of the debris fields, which most pirates relied on, was unavailable. But Aserval was willing to take the risk.
The mule cruised through space. By now it was apparent that this trip from Alcatraz to Buffalo was going to take a long, long time. Aserval put the ship on autopilot and entered his cargo hold. He opened up one of the crates and took out a can, popping the top and inhaling the contents. Cardamine. It was in such high demand that even where you could get it cheap, it was still over one-thousand credits a box. Even so, there were places where it was in even higher demand, so it was more than worth it. Besides, it made people feel good to have some. Aserval enjoyed it himself, so he made it a note to have a sample of the cargo on every trip.
The proximity alert came off. Aserval swore and ran to the cockpit to see a patrol of the LPI. He broke cruise speed and prepared to engage.
((This is an Open Roleplay, so feel free to jump right in.))
"Death to ZugZug!" Oh, and by the way, considering I outrank you, I shouldn't have to listen to you.
