Is it 16 total maximum, or only maximum from technologies?

Example:

I have 3 IL completed (+6 bonus), and pay 3 modifiers (+3 bonus). Do I get:

a.) 8 + 6 + 3 = 17, capped at 16 (1-16S, 17-20F)
b.) 8 + 6 = 14 (still within cap); 14 + 3 = 17 (1-17S, 18-20F)
c.) something different?


Oh, Jacob, and if no other judge told you yet: I've sent several ships to search for Freeport 6 (zoners), and the result was that I should fight for it (5 IIRC). But the problem is - would the Zoners attack me, if they are supposed to be neutral with everyone? I personaly have no problems with a little fight, but I could use some 20 fighters better than standing there and waiting for decision.

I'm afraid that you'll have to fight.

And it is 16 for techs, and as for ship improvments, any one stat cannot go beyond the ship's maximum.

The DSE Navy has just released information on a new system discovered recently by an exploration party. The New Zealand system, named after an ancient nation on Earth, is rather unremarkable, as it has no planets, however construction of a base in the system was carried out immediately.

BATTLESHIPS RELENTLESS AND UNDERTAKER ENGAGING PIRATES IN THE OMEGAS

The Battleships Relentless and Undertaker are beginning search and destroy operations in the Omegas. Currently they are searching for hidden Corsair bases. The campaign in the Omegas is expected to be a success, with no problems expected.

SETBACKS IN THE GAS/METAL MINER SERIES, LABORATORIES START FROM SCRATCH

Professor Issacs, Head Of Research of DSE Laboratories, has reported that the first test flight of the DSE Gas/Metal Miner design was a catastrophic faliure at best. Hidden design flaws in the structuring of the ships caused them to begin to rupture after minutes in deep space, with a loss of atmosphere in the ship in 10 minutes and a reactor core breach after 1/2 an hour of space flight. These flaws have caused the entire process to be reevaluated, and the expected success of the design has been met by faliure. Thankfully, the prototype Gas/Metal Miner was automated, so no casualties were caused during the loss.

DEEP SPACE ENGINEERING LABORATORIES ENHANCE JUGGERNAUT CLASS BATTLESHIPS

Professor Jacobson, Head Of War Development at DSE Laboratories, has released a revised set of schematics for the weapons and armour structuring of the Trebuchet Class Battleships, which have enhanced the ship's ability to repel enemy fighters. The revisions concentrated mainly on creating new weapons systems that are more powerful and have a deeper penetration against enemy fighters and enhancing the original weapons systems to be more effective.

100% success is what Jacob is trying to prevent, and I think he's right. So by any means you can get only 1-16.



@ Hawk of Prey:
You probably confuse Freistadt Station (Omega-7) and Freiburg Station (Stuttgart). I own the one in O-7, as it is clearly stated in my turn.

Edit: oh, it seems you got Freistadt too. But look through your and mine posts: I've succesfully blitzed it in Turn #2, and have it listed between my bases everytime since then. You attempted to blitz it in Turn #6, you haven't probably noticed I got it. Also, you are now trying to search for my bases in the Omegas, which locations I have alerady revealed to everyone. You also can't blitz, them, only NPC (Non-Player Controlled) bases can be blitzed.

Oh, and check the rules about Exploration Parties once again. You don't send any of your units , but you have to buy separate Exploration Parties for 50$/2G/5M.
