Howdy, i was just wondering if it was too late to join up, i was planning to a long time ago (well since you say this has been going on for 6 months, then i guess it was six months ago) but i had obligations (ie, job, school, cat...ect) and so now that i have a job that finishes at 12 and cant get to sleep till 2:00 i figured it would be awesome to join up.
i was also wondering, whatever happed to the other fleets? were they destroyed? did the outcasts get them? did the nomads take over the crew?
i was also noticing that most of the action is taking place in bretonia, and kind of reinland, but i was wondering, what about the political unbalance between liberty/kusari that the loss of their fleets might have incured? wouldn't, with the bush administration as an example, the liberty up their border patrols, arrest more people, and maybe even start a mandatory draft (now wouldn't that spice things up, he!he!) and kusari (unfortunatly i don't know much about japans politics) and you could also take into account the smaller bands of pirates (not just the outcasts or corsaires are going to take these missing fleets as opportunity) what about the Rogues? Blood Dragons?
also, if you dont mind me joining up, would someone mind correcting/editing my post, my word prossesor is in french, and i cant change it to english, yay! for Quebec!
Take Care

Jacob, there have been 6 different CYOFs. The first one lasted over two months, and it was the longest (I believe). This by itself has lasted 6 months.
Whatever Wilde.
It's just the way that CYOF is designed that makes it so broken up. Still, CYOF has been running for a year, if not every day, and I think that's quite an accomplishment.
Sorry about the delays, everyone. My new update should be up tommorow. (Not that anyone believes me anymore. )
Name: MacKenzy
Alias: Mac
Age: 27
Faction: Liberty Navy
Appearance: Of average height and light build, he keeps he head shaved and agains regulations, a trimmed beard. He wears a pair of glasses of hide his deepset eyes.
Occupation: Liberty Navy Intel Officer, Captain of Gunship 'Acadia'
Bio: Mackenzy, born into a minner family on the planet Pittsburgh, he joined the navy as soon as he could to escape the blandness of Pittsburgh. At his apparent ease of befriending anybody at the acadamy, Mackenzy was requested to futher his studies in communications and Joined the Intel. dept. after graduation. He gained fame in the Department by being the longest living and active mole in the Xeno's organization. last year Mackenzy had been promoted to Captain, and given command of the gunship 'Acadia'.
Acadia: An ageing liberty gunship, refurbished for intel missions. a crew of two, pilot and navigator/Gunner, with three extra bearths for spec. opperatives under Mackenzys command.
i can understand if you dont like the idea of five people following my character arround, but i figured that since my character was trained for intel opperations, his combat and flight training might have been lacking. Also, in the game, a gunship is not that powerfull (it should be though, it called a 'gunship' for something!) i mean, a light fighter tailing one can take one out, and tailing one is pretty easy, they move slooow!. but if you dissagree, i can change it.

Welcome Bouvier
The Outcast base in Cali has been smashed. This leaves a big bad-guy vacuum in northern Sirius, as the Outcasts given their cardamine dependency means they can't live long away from a base.
Following the battle with the Nomads summoned by Mason, the majority of warships that survived left Sigma 19 and returned to their homes.
The aftermath of the depleted fleets has never been covered so far and could be the basis of a story arc, after all, when your borders are vulnerable..!
I imagine the first encounters would be between House patrols as they jointly fly through contested or neutral zones. Galileo and Kepler systems lie between Kusari and Liberty space, they are also quite underpopulated.
I'm keen to see what your character will do and how he interacts overall with the rest of the cast and environment
Welcome again!

Hi bouvier
Welcome to our little family. We're an odd bunch, but you'll soon get used to us.
I'd like to make a suggestion though. Consider an alternative to the gunboat. You don't have to drop it, but be ready to use something different. The "problem" with capital ships is that they are noticeable. Nobody will really think twice about some fighters here and there, but if a Liberty Gunboat pops up where it shouldn't (i.e. a different House system, or even one of the Independent systems) then it may cause some "incidents".
The way we've done things for Nick Warren (who has a similar set-up to Mac), is that he has a group of fighters under his command. You might want to do the same for Mac when he has to leave Liberty.
But, by all means, use the gunboat when it's practical. And now that most everyone is either in, or travelling to, Liberty the Gunboat won't be out of place. And, as a matter of fact, it would be good to make it quite powerful. That way your character can act as the proverbial cavalry, should things start to go poorly.
As far as getting you involved in the main storyline - assuming you're interested - you should probably try to work something out with ww2jacob. Your characters are both Libertonian by allegiance, and they're both spooks, so it would be natural that they'd know (of) each other.
Once again, welcome.

alright =D
In the game it seems like Rhineland is the nly faction with a complete military. bretonia seems to lack cruisers, liberty lacks gunships, and kusari seems to lack both... maybe thats just my memory playing tricks on me...
I have no idea how that above post helps, just points out further problems DA left in the game when it was released...

Actually there are models of all the house ships that never made it into the game (you can find in many mods), and Liberty has Cruisers, Dreadnoughts, and Battleships. The odd thing is that the Liberty Dreadnoughts and Battleships look exactly the same, so perhaps you could throw in Gunboats. I don't see any problems with it.
And bouvier, welcome to the game. I think our characters would work well together myself, especially as they are both Liberty intel agents. Jake is heading to Liberty, so perhaps we could have them meet there? Email me with ideas.
