I am sorry, but Ageira will only be allowed to travel through Sigma 13 if they give us control of Alster Shipyard. They will retain access to it.

Our thanks to Bretonia for accepting the alliance with the Pirate's League.

Oh hell with it. I'm nationalizing Kruger and ALG.

That gives me another 6 stations; 2 from ALG and 4 from Kruger.

Bases from ALG:
Dortmund Station, New Berlin (Large Station - Pop. 2000)
Helgoland Station, Sigma-13 (Small Station - Pop. 200)

Bases from Kruger:
Mannheim Station, Frankfurt (Small Station - Pop. 400)
Bautzen Station, Dresden (Small Station - Pop. 900)
Essen Station, New Berlin (Large Station - Pop. 2000)
Elbich Mining Facility, Omega-7 (Small Station - Pop. 400)

With the resources from these new stations I will build 2 Freighters for trading purposes.

That gives me these new income stats (end of turn values):
200 Credits
32/0/2/78/9 (F/HF/M/O/W)

Well I doubt that Ageira will relinquish control of Alster Shipyard.

This is starting to have some things reminiscent of the 2nds problem. And that is, rebel factions teaming up with their leaders and houses getting to annex corporations. I strongly urge both of these to stop. First it makes the outlaw factions really pointless, second whichever faction is lucky enough not to have someone select their corporations gets a much large built in advantage then they even did originally.

If rebel factions from a house like say Liberty Rogues make an alliance with Bretonia that would make sense. But it should not be allying with Liberty. We tried to improve the rules so houses aren't stacked like they were, now the old problems are creeping back. And state control over corporations just makes Houses which have by far the most at the beginning already have even more, it is a big problem.

Hehehe, nationalizing sure is fun, isn't it?

@Wilde+Codename: I don't think that there is a need to delete your "spammy" posts, since they add a whole lot to the game in general and the progression of the story.

Edit: Triyun, I see your point. However, I think that the nationalization is a good thing because I purposely stacked things against houses and for pirates to begin with. It has become clear to me that I stacked things a little too high for the pirates. This is merely a way to compensate. Besides, in a time of war, a house would seize assets, or at least increase corporation taxes tremendously. I know it seems a little bit Fashist or Communist, but it does make sense.

Tryiun, I doubt anyone will stop with the nationalizing of corporations in their Houses. Also, there's the issue about Kusari....

Yes, we do need to either get DeathSpike in here, or get someone else in here. And don't even think about offering to take over for him, Triyun!

Post Wed Dec 22, 2004 7:16 pm

Well, that may not be a bad idea, you know.

Oh, wait. Yes it would.

And as far as the whole "Super-Mega Alliances of Doom" thing is concerned, I blame Triyun and Wilde. (Not that you should find that surprising.) Why? Simple. They had decided before the game even started that they would ally themselves. The Corsairs and Hessians are both powerful groups and can out-muscle a lone house. The potentail addition of the Outcasts makes that alliance all the more potent. I had the misfortune of being the first target so I did what any half-wit in my position would. I raised all hell. Fortunately for me it worked. It worked damn well, in fact. Now we've got this massive Corporate Alliance, with one partner at least (Xeno/Daumann) crazily indebted to me (at least that's how I see it). So now the tables have turned and the scales tipped in my favour. Woohoo! Go me!

(I know I'm not being entirely fair to all sides in this summary but I've already written pages and pages today so I'm going to keep this short and biased. )

You really know how to play on people's greed, Codename...

OOC: I'm with Triyun on this. I at least want to have a war with Rhineland...Plus, I think all the nationalization of House corps. gives houses an advantage pirates can't have, unless you suck up to a House. Codename offered the Xenos control of Daumann--I still think he would have to actually overtake the Daumann bases--and now the Xenos, enemies with all factions except for the Zoners and IMG, pirates of Liberty, are an ostensibly legal faction. So are the Rogues. That's one of the reason why the League was formed, so illegal factions could exist as being illegal.

@ ST: You realize you have access to my two shipyards and the two large bases in Sigma 19, right?

Yes, well I would have expected you to side with Triyun. Still, there are a whole whack-load of NPC criminal factions you can co-opt into the ML () if you want. Don't try to change they system, buddy; just work within it as best you can.

to wilde:

*Breaks out laughing.* You do realize you forgot a major fact about ageira, right?plus the fact that you are never going to get anything directly out of me.

Oh, and the whole uber-alliance of doom on my part? All because of a lack of oxygen....

yeah, but I have to fight them. That's what's not fair. You guys can nationalize them without incident, I had to fight them. LAst rpg I had to, this time I will have to.

I'm not complaining, but the rules are not all that fair.

What did I forget about Ageira?

Wait. Fight who? Other (NPC) criminals? Nah. I wouldn't force you to do that. Just annex them. Plus I've given up on the ol' Bundschuh so you have them as well.

Edit:
@ Richardson - Oooh. "Uber" eh? I like the sounds of that.

we build jumpgates, remember? So, basicly, I could build a gate from frankfurt to sigma 17, bypassing 13. Being reasonable with these buggers, and I belive that thi time they were adressed.
