@ Jacob: What are the rules concerning where criminals can place their bases? They can't be found without an exploration, so technically they could be placed anywhere on the map, but that's not quite fair to the Houses or corporations. Maybe it would have to be a system adjacent to one you already have a base in...
Wow were getting alot of people like 16 factions now:
gunblader: Liberty
ww2jakob: Bretonia
Codename: Rhineland
DeathSpike: Kusari
Triyun: Corsairs
Omega--Chief: IMG
vorticaldwarf: Outcasts
Chessalavakia: Xenos
The REAL Freelancer: Junkers
roc: Liberty Rogues
[ACWilde: Red Hessians
Dragonborn: Lane Hackers
Centurus: GMG
Reckless Reaper: Bounty Hunters
TKaz84: Blood Dragons
Stormtrooper110: Bundschuh
The Creator: Hogosha
Connarius: Zoners
18 factions!!! Thats a lot! Though I noticed that no one picked any of the corperations inside the Houses like Aegira, Samura, etc.(probably because the House they are related to would just kill them off lol ). Maybe we should have something special for corperations like being able to research enhanced technologies?

I have a list of those on page 2 which I've been updating so far...it's good that we have a lot, but we really should cut it off at 20. All the important factions and cool factions have been taken anyway, except for the GC, FA, Unioners, and Mollys. Sorry, but I really can't picture ANYONE finding Bowex or Kruger Minerals a particularly interesting faction to control.
About the corporations--we actually don't want to give them bonuses, especially if you're a House leader. Who wants a bunch of annoying corporations controlling half of your bases?
Edit: a suggestion for starting ship numbers: we should keep the numbers basically the same, except in-House criminal bases (Buffalo, Vogtland, Islay) should get 20 or 25 LF wings instead of 10. Border world criminal bases (Pacifia, Dawson) could get 15 and Edge world criminal bases (Frietal, Cali) can get 10. It's another issue of vulnerabiliy.

Yes, if someone wanted to convert one, I wouldn't have a problem. It would cost some credits, though.
Here are the rules for starting ships:
1 Small Station- 5 LF
1 Large Station- 10 LF
1 In-Game Battleship- 10 HF
1 Planet- 20 LF
Pirate Exceptions:
In-House System Stations- 20 LF
Connected to House System Station- 15 LF
Border World Station- 10 LF
Pirate Planet- 20 LF + 10 VHF

Yup you do--but only for the Houses. Every battleship, e.g. the Westfalen in Hamburg, is a base but also a warship. So when you take control of a faction, you lose the base because the battleship becomes employed in the Military. So you, gunblader, have 2 battleships--the Mississippi and the Missouri. DeathSpike starts with 3--Nagumo, Myoto, and Matsumoto--, jacob has 1 I think, and Codename has 1, the Westfalen.
Orbital Spa and Cruise has luxury liners and nothing else. They are stations, not battleships.
@ Jacob: thanks for taking that idea into account. So, using that, I start with 20 LFs at Vogtland, 15 LFs at Freital, and 15 at Ronneburg--50 in total. Not bad.
