yeah well fellow pirate or not, i may just have to invade your territory in NY since magellan is low on resources either that or a trade agreement since i will have HF in my system, in small amounts tho. also couldn't we like build things like gas miners etc. to increase our income because currently magellan only has a income of 1 HF and 1 oxygen, just a idea...

another thing...liberty doesn't have gunboats and it would takea big chunk out of a pirates income to build something bigger, or do they have a "unofficial" gunboat

A trade agreement would work. And if you want to mine the resources instead of invading an ally why not just build a hidden base(if we can have those). It would be a lot easier then just charging in. Also, if you want to talk more about this, could you e-mail me? Because I don't want to fill the sign-up thread with in-game stuff.

Basically, all criminal bases, plus mining stations in Edge and Border Worlds, plus research stations are all automatically hidden. Planets, of course, are not...

Also you need to get friendly with a house OR steal a capital ship before you can build any. Gunboats included. On the other hand once stolen you gain the designs for the capital ship and can build them yourself afterwards.

Junker bases should not be hiddne since Junker bases are known by all factions in the real game.

Hi, im new to this, could i have the Bounty Hunters, or do u think i should join another faction to start of with.
when does the round start?

Welcome to CYOF RecklessReaper. The Bounty Hunters are a good faction, they get a lot of ship stat points. If you want to see all the factions in case you want to change your mind, the website for CYOF is http://www.freewebs.com/cyof/. Check under the new projects section for the rules of CYOF 3.0. And the current start date is Dec. 20th, but I'm not sure if it will be pushed back or not. Hope you have fun!

I just though of something else, what about wrecks, i was thinking that a exploration party has a chance to discover a wreck, if it has codenames they can reverse engineer them to upgrade their fighters/cap ships, or if its wrecked transports you'd get some goods like HF metals etc. kinda like the goody huts out of civ 3.


EDIT: how do you "steal" a capship do you send a party of commandos and have X chance of making off with a capship?

@ Dragonborn: Codenames were outlawed in the first one, so I don't know if we'll be able to incorporate them this time around. The idea's not bad tho...I suppose the GMG would be rolling in them--Sigma 13 has about 6 different codenames. Omega 11 has 1, Omicron Alpha has a few...Capital ships tho can't mount codenames, only fighters can.

There are a bunch of rules on the cyof site (Click here) about how to steal cap ships. Basically you send say 15 LF wings to a small station guarded by 10 LF wings and 1 gunboat. If all defending units are destroyed except for the cap ship you're trying to steal, you get a random number roll at pirating it--10-7 failure, 6-1 success. Afterwards you have the design for that capital ship and can build it as long as you have a cap shipyard.

yeah but the idea was they had to FIND them first, which could be made so that its very hard to get them and they would give a sizable(but not too big) edge over everyone else, of course this could also be traded for resources too...

And they wouldn't actualy be mounting them they would reverse engineer them to increase the attack stats on a ship class of their choice.

Im totally new to this...but i give it a try.

i chose Hogosha, since the Hogosha helps the corsairs with artifacts does that make us allies or what?

My allies are the Corsairs and my Home is Omicron Gamma.

Your welcome to join an alliance with us, but even though your involved in the artifact trade there are only Corsair bases in Omicron Gamma.
