The biggest tool for a writer--or so my experience has been (and I've heard this many times too from professionals)--is a library. Reading others' work is always a fundamental part of writing your own.

My story isn't dead either. It's the first story I've ever written, though, and it takes time. I'm also in law school which also takes time...
But I'm loving the experience of writing the story. I'm already having some ideas for the next one - before the first is even finished!!! I'm going to stick with my characters for the next story; it will be a sequel of sorts I suppose - the further adventures of Micah, Luther, and Kruger!

FYI: If you want to keep some scientific realism in your story, this is a great reference site.

Someday Im just going to go to a crowded public pool, toss in a Baby Ruth, and watch what happens...

Writing can be hard when u first try it, the music thing might work, maybe ill try that sometime, one of our school's 4th grade teachers, played mozart during math class, all my friends said it helped. could u guys also gimme some feedback on wat ya think of guts, guns, criminals, and all for credits? i havent got any responses on it and i wanna no watcha all think, sides vactaions, and freelacer itself, i dont have much to bother with, [cept star trek! so ill be posting alot, but on subject, dont be afraid to write, even if everyone hates it, i will be proud of you for going out there and writing it down, whatever doent kill you, makes u stronger, ususally, nah, always, in the long run at least. so dont be afraid to express yourself! and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
