The Control Your Own Faction RPG, Part II: Rebirth-Reserve A
Read, add and comment on excellent written stories by fans, set within the Freelancer universe
And then again, the freelancer's exist, and are mentioned in the game's documentation. So, with that being said, why NOT?
Besides, I promise I will not do anything stupid like I was forced to do last time. No building of bases, stuff like that until I can either:
A ) Get together a large fleet of freelancers and force criminals out of one of theirs.
B ) Con a faction out of one of their bases.
Plus, I'm not limited in my choice of fighters. Which means, while infanstructure wise I am limited, tactically, I have free reign in what style I would eventually have to settle on.

urgh...
Well...
I do think it is a pretty good idea, but I don't wanna have to re-write the rules to add a new type of faction.
Fine. You can be the Freelancer's Guild, but you have to chose one particular faction type's ship, and then STICK TO IT.
Types are:
Any of the Houses
Corporation
Pirate
Revolutionary
Smuggler
That's all, so you will have to pick one, and stay with it.

rich - While the Freelancers guild is an interesting and worthy idea, it doesn't really make sense. The whole idea of being a Freelancer is that you aren't answerable to anyone. The only reason the Freelancer's Guild was mentioned in the manual is that the author(s) needed an interesting title for the part about multiplayer. Still, if it's okay with Jacob, it's okay with me.
Jacob - Did you get my e-mail?

Actually, why not, a fellow free-spirit rising up, helping to unite them with their fellow freelancers, giving them protection in numbers.
Actually, I sorta wrote him in as very confused himself. He didn't expect this idea to work either. And I'll have at most maybe 2000 freelancers in on this at first, out of the at least million that are out there.
So, yeah, most of them did not join the "Offical" guild.
And I figured out a way for us to at least have someplace as our headquarters:
I got the biggest money guys who showed up in the first hour to help buy us a landing zone on manhatten. Not exactly a normal base, but we'll have to live with it for a long, long time.
