Godd stuff, Bret.

I must confess that you and your stories really were instrumental in getting me to finally go ahead and try my hand at writing a fanfic. I'll let you decide if that's a good thing or not.

Dude, Bret! That was INCREDABLE! I don't think I have ever read a better story, not even by professional authors. Well Left-Behind (The Kids.) mabye, but other than that there are none. I was about to die when Neuromancer left, but this is even better, sorry Neuro. Keep up the good work Bret.

U R DA BEST!!

DSQrn, thanks for comment And it will. I'm only chapter 3 and its already 9 word pages long. SOS's 16 chapters was 37 word pages i think. This one is set to be longer...

And Killa, i'm still glad you like it At least it wasn't Old Mr Cowell talking this time

Chapter 4 – Twist Of Fate

The nine ships cleared the landing pad and made their way to the Sprague docking ring.

Waiting in space was a Dom Kavash escort fighter and a Dom Kavash Transport.

“I’m uploading the transmisson co-ordinates in to all of your neural nets now” said Omaelia.

Queen Carina had sent word to the Bretonian Military and the Bretonian Police to provide protection for the convoy as it made its way through Bretonian Space to Tau-23.

With the military and police escort, the 11 ship strong convoy made its way to the Tau 31 jump gate.

“This is where we part ways, good luck” said the Military transport leader when the convoy arrived at Glasgow.

“Ok Trent, you take point we’ll meet you on the other side” said Omaelia.

Each ship proceeded to follow Trent through the jump gate in to Tau-31.

“We haven’t been here in while” said Trent to Juni.

Their first destination was outpost Holman, which only two and half years ago, had been the site of a Rheinland surprise attack during the first Nomad wars.

“It certainly brings back a few memories” replied Juni.

The convoy flew by Holman and headed for the trade lane that would take them to the recently completed Jump Gate in to Tau-23.

At the Jump gate, Omaelia came over the group communications.

“Ok, once we clear the gate, we are to head to Cali. There are two people waiting for us there”

“Who?” asked Trent.

“Friends of yours Trent. They are coming with us”

The convoy made their final jump through the gate in to Tau-23. Hispania had claimed Cali after the coming together of both the Outcasts and the Corsairs.

The flight through the ice field was always a treacherous one, but everyone one in the convoy was a skilled pilot and they made their way to Cali without a hitch.

“Fighter Convoy, this is Cali, you are cleared for docking”

Each ship proceeded to land on Cali. On the deck, was two familiar faces to Trent, Juni, Von Claussen and King.

“Ah Mr Trent, Juni” said Quintaine. “Its good to see you all again”

“Professor Quintaine, Dr Sinclair? What are you two doing here?” said Trent.

“Whatever is out there, it’s a good possibility that it isn’t human. We are to tag along as mere advisors. We will be going in the Dom Kavash Transport to ananlysie any debris or whatever we made find” replied Sinclair

Omaelia came walking over from her ship.

“Trent, are you and your people ready?” she asked.

“Yes”

“Good. Dr Sinclair, will you and the professor please board the transport. We have no time to waste”

Everyone who landed on Cali made their way back to their ships and launched in to space.

Omaelia got over the communication channel.

“Ok everyone, this is it. I want you all to have your weapons at the ready. I’ll take point. Engageing cruise speed.”

Each ship powered up its cruise engines and headed for the transmission co-ordinates.

As they began to approach the barrier, the ice fields began to clear and the emptiness of space became evident.

“Ok we’re almost at the co-ordinates, be alert” said Omaelia.

Each ships scanner went off as they approached the origin of the transmission. This confirmed that something was out here.

“Approaching target, no visual…Hold on, I’ve got something here” said Trent.

Everyone disengaged their engines.

“It’s a ship!” said Juni.

“Yes. But what kind?” replied Von Claussen.

“I’m going to take a closer” said Trent.

“Be careful” replied Juni.

Trent approached the ship and ran a scan of the vessel. He couldn’t bring up a communication channel with the ship. Trent could make out Alien writing along the side of it.

“Hmm, the engines are fried and it’s only got minimum power. Enough to send out a distress call” said Trent.

“Ok, we’ll tractor it on to the transport and take it back to Sprague for observation. The two doctors are ready to take a look at it in the meantime” replied Omaelia.

“Hold on a second, I’m picking up a life sign. It’s a very weak life sign, but something is in that ship!” said Trent.

“Ok. We need this back at Sprague as quickly as possible. DK Transport, proceed with salvage”

The Dom Kavash transport tractored the alien ship on board.

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Why do people who know the least know it the loudest?

Quality work as always. I shouldn't need to tell you to keep it up.
